I've tried almost every workout program for abs, but since I began with the workout in this book, I've gotten the best results, in less time. Believe or not, in just six weeks you'll see a BIG difference. I challenge you to try it, you'll NOT regret.

Forget that damned ab-machine I bought for $59... or was it $99... last year when they were hot. All I got was a sore back and guilt when I shoved it under the bed where it is now collecting dust.
This inexpensive little book tells me how to do it without injuring myself and my stomach is flat, smooth and sexy in only about 4 or 5 weeks. If I wanted a lot of definition like a bodybuilder, I am sure I could get it, but this sure does the trick for those of us who just want to look good in a bathing suit, too.
Hopefully those dust bunnies under the bed are getting a workout with the ab machine but meanwhile "Legendary Abs" is my equipment of choice for a flat stomach.

I've had this book for years now. The book is based on research out of Standford University.

After reading this book you will laugh at all those ab machine commercials since you will know the truth about ab training.

Everyone can have amazing abs if you commit to doing this routine every other day.

If you were to divide your abdominals into two parts, upper and lower abdominals, and then targeted your lower abdominals first followed by your uppers then you'll have covered just a small portion of this book.

What I like the most is the different intensity levels. You start at the lowested level routine and when you stop getting results you move to the next level... until you stop getting results then its on to the next level, etc...

There are no rewards for moving up a level before you are ready!

I also like how they explain why these routines work. How the abs work and how not to train them.

As far a equipment needed to do these routines: a mat would be nice, a chin-up bar to hang from (starting at level 3 I think) and if you don't have good upper body strength, a pair of arm slings so you can hang from the chin-up bar. That's it!

Finally a warning I've read on the web. Health for Life is no longer in business so be wary of their web site.

I've used this training method since 1995 and took a set of weak abs and turned them into rock-hard muscles that when felt, seemed like bone and not muscle!!

It's a simple, short training session that will give you the best and fastest burn of any training method available.

My abs got so hard that I would let people punch me straight in the stomach (I know it was dumb, but I was ready) and it would cause me no pain or injury (I don't recommend this testosterone enhanced insanity). Nevertheless, my abs were well sculpted and for anyone that wants to impress their woman in the privacy of their home, this is the program for you.

Health for Life (HFL) is a group of exercise physiologist that researches on the effect that certain exercises have on the human body. Knowing what an exercise will do to a human body allows HFL to develope workout routines that will improve one's health and physical image in the shortest amount of time possible. The most ground-breaking result from their research is synergism, a strategy that interlaces certain exercises in a workout, causing the stimulation of growth within the muscle fibers in the shortest amount of time the human body will permit.
"Legendary Abs" is their application of synergism to abs training. If you have ever wondered why grade school teachers emphasize research as the best way for one to obtain knowledge, this book is a perfect demonstation of the power of research. This book works. Within a 12-minute workout, an athlete will experience a wonderful sensation of a good burn. Although a "burn" is not a scientific indicator of muscular growth, the distinct hardening of the abdominal muscles that an athlete will experience is, indeed, an indication of expansion within the muscle fibers. This hardening of the abdominal muscles will usually take place after a month or so of following these routines.

This works_ review left from when I used it in high school. I just purchased it again and will start utilizing it again, but in high school it definitely brought much better gains and quickly than the exercises that our coaches had us doing.
