Not quite a John Estes box set., January 25, 2009

A very good collection, yes, but I thought I was getting four disks of early John Estes recordings. This set gives you two disks of Sleepy John Estes, and the third and fourth are mostly Yank Rachel, Son Bonds, Hammy Nixon, among others (all Estes cohorts), with only occasional appearences by Estes on second guitar. Definately a good buy, but if your only looking for John Estes you might want something else, as most of the tracks on the first two disks are on his Yazoo Records collection.
