Got That '70s Vibe, February 9, 2007
This review is from: Legendary Demo (Audio CD)
This album is full of nothing but retro '70s goodness and it's pulled off quite well. Featuring Adam McGrath from Cave In, this band sounds nothing like the aforementioned band. All songs are spectacular, but the stand out is definitely the closer: a cover of "Hot Rats" originally done by Zappa and Captain Beefheart. This carries that same song into dub style, eventually transforming into something completely different with a pretty sharp performance of someone (too lazy to look) on a saxophone.
This will appeal fans of Rock to Punk to Metal, just a terrific album all around!

70's Atmosphere with a modern twist!, August 28, 2008
This review is from: Legendary Demo (Audio CD)
I really didn't know what to expect from this release honestly, but since I love Cave In and they are on an extended hiatus, I decided to start checking out the many member's side projects. Adam McGrath's Clouds completely and totally blew me away. They managed to make a pummeling 70's rock album that fuses just enough modern sounds in it to not sound dated. McGrath handles most of the vocals on the album and they're appropriatly grungy. Standout songs are: 'New Amnesia', 'Pressure', 'Mountain Jim', 'Guardian's Eyes', and 'Magic Hater'. The Album closes with "Quartulli Dub", consider it a dub cooldown to all the amazing vintage rock in your system.
All in all this is an AMAZING rock album, one that everyone should pick up, provided you don't have a heart condition. :)
