Excellent Compilation of Greatest Hits, September 30, 2003
This 3CD set imported from Australia to the rest of the world compiles 50 great songs from one of the greatest musicians in the history of popular music. This collection brings most of the big hits that Jose recorded from his years with RCA 1965-1975. There are some great songs missing but considering all of the many compilations that they have of Jose's Greatest Hits out there this is probably the best one to get an at a very affordable price. This collection does bring a few classics that have never before been release on CD like "Simple Song" "Life Is That Way", "Adios Amor", "Wichita Lineman" "Younger Generation" and a few others. It also brings such Feliciano classics as "Light My Fire" "California Dreamin'" "Rain", "Sunny", "Chico And The Man" and others. This is a great career overview documenting the great songs of an artist who is a considered a universal inspiration to many people all over the world. Jose Feliciano is soul, passion, and emotion not to mention incredible sensitivity to express what he feels in his songs. He has often been called the greatest living guitarist in the world and one of the finest voices in music I couldn't agree more. This compilation comes with a track listing of all the songs and a one page liner note on Feliciano's life and career achievements. FELICIANO is the sound who lit the fire of a whole generation in the laste 60's and early 70's. This CD set is called LEGENDARY and that fits him well because Jose is a living legend no doubt.

Great selection, but....., February 16, 2006
Great selection of Jose's material--gotta love his cover versions of some great 60's classics. But the sound quality sucks! Lots of snaps and static, about what you'd expect from a budget re-release of an old 70's album. Not the quality you'd expect from a new, remastered collection.

En Fuego! Jose, August 5, 2008
This review is from: Legendary (Audio CD)
Jose Feliciano, blind at birth in 1945, emigrated from Puerto Rico to NY Harlem as a child. He learned guitar and accordian. But not taught Flaminco or Gypsy or any determined folk style. By his teens, he was playing in NY Greenwich Village as different, unusual as could be. RCA was looking for a Latin inroads and was interested in the Folk movement + maybe getting a top 40 hit artist in the bargain.
A 45, "Everybody do the Click",a dance song of the time soon followed. Didn't do much, but an album, "The Voice and Guitar of" was released. Very popular in Latin countries, Jose sold enough to hang tuff. His quitar technique was amazing, like Segovia sat with Les Paul and giggled.
Then, in 1968, Jose recorded a long strung acoustic version of "Light My Fire". It hit big. Moms/Dads/Hippies/Bikers/Latinos/Sub-Urbanites all bought it. Romance always sneaks through. Jose found his bliss by re-configuring pop hits to his style i.e.; "Sunny" "CA Dreamin" "Don't Let the Sun Catch Ya Cryin"
This 3 disc CD set has the beginnings of Jose's first recordings on RCA. It has most of the hits and gleans some of the best from his first RCA albums. The sound quality is decent, stereo separation is clear and is an example of '60's Hi-Fi.
What Jose deserves is a box set of his first four RCA albums in their entirety. They are among the best examples of a voice, guitar, ache, and a timeless take of passion
