1.0 out of 5 stars Not What You Expect !!
I have always been a great fan of all the music of Roger Whittaker and was surprised to see a cd available with what seems like all the hits on and other well known tracks . Could'nt wait for it to arrive - VERY DISAPPOINTING - obviously the Australians - where this cd was made - do not have the same principles about selling greatest hit albums which ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL...

Could'nt wait for it to arrive - VERY DISAPPOINTING - obviously the Australians - where this cd was made - do not have the same principles about selling greatest hit albums which ARE NOT THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS - all the tracks on this album are very poor redone versions of the originals - nowhere on the box does it state that the songs are NOT THE ORIGINALS !
True Roger Whittaker fams will not be happy with this Australian rip off album !
Not recommended !

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Album, July 6, 2005

Kudos to M. B. Richardson's assessment of this classic rip off, complete with non-original recordings, PLUS his opinions of the Australians responsible for this sham! And pftttttt to Barron Laycock "Labradorman"'s review which "forgets"

to mention "the problem". At least somebody's honest out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars Know before you buy., August 15, 2003

I had hoped for an all original recording, but this set has some old and some new arrangements. It is the only way to lsten to cd quality of old songs. I'm happy to own it, I just wished it had more of the old recordings. P.S. disc 2 is not very good.

Not the original recordings.... but don't just blame the Aussies here... part of the blame goes to Roger for re-recording them!

Roger Whittaker has been called the most traveled entertainer in the world because of his enduring international popularity, braced by a slew of albums that have enjoyed continuing support form a legion of fans from everywhere from San Francisco to Siberia. This collection of his greatest hits is but a small representation of the total corpus of his recording work, which consists of dozens of albums. This engaging native of South Africa continues to entertain, and is still recording. So, although he doesn't enjoy much air-time or hit the top ten any more, he is still actively in the recording business.

Included in this three CD collection of all his greatest hits is "New World In The Morning", "Durham Town", "I Don't Believe In If Anymore", and my own personal favorite, "The Last Farewell". Also found here are "I Am But A Small Voice", "River Lady", "You Are My Miracle", and a lovely cover of "The Wind Beneath My Wings". Also included are 'The Last Farewell', 'All Of My Life', 'When I Fall In Love', 'Always On My Mind', 'Streets Of London', "Albany" and "The Skye Boat Song". The list of songs just goes on and on. This is a lovely album comprehensively showcasing the talents of one of the world's favorite entertainers, and one that you will love listening to. Enjoy!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Legendary (Audio CD)
You can listen to parts of these songs from Amazon before you buy. Call 'em Re-made, Rip-off, Whatever..... Still for under $15 used, not bad. Good Songs and a Good Voice. I've wasted money on a lot worse things, but to me this seems to be a nice collection, for a decent price. Don't like it.... Don't get it. I bet he sings a lot better in the shower than you do! The 3rd disc. is a little weak, but I still think for the money, you still have a lot of good music

1.0 out of 5 stars are you kidding?, January 7, 2004
This review is from: Legendary (Audio CD)
two people give this product a bad review...and the third person gives a commercial advertisement for how great the product is. I think i'll trust the first two, and ignore the fact the the producer of the product is trying to boost his rating by posting a bunch of crap that doesn't seem to be accurate.
