This is one of my favorite sermons of Rev.C.L. Franklin. He explains a lot things that people really need to hear especially about Pressing On and moving on. On that particular sermon he shares an important story about a runner who runs against an old man.I learned more about Rev. Franklin through his daughter's book Aretha Franklin. He is one the greatest preacher of all time

I have been listening to Rev. Franklin's sermons for some 15 yrs now. They still make the hair on my head stand. The words he speak and eloquence by which they are spoken tells me one thing and one thing only: "there must be a god somewhere". Ronnie Chevis,

I am a Unitarian Universalist minister, and one might think our theology is very different from Rev. Franklin's but I find his preaching a wonderful inspiration. While certainly Christian, he, like Dr. King, never asks his audience to betray their intelligence or reason. He takes his biblical passages and truly enables the listener to understand and move toward a more spiritual and just response to the world.
"To redeem a man you must redeem the social order." If Dr. King was the Beatles, Rev. Franklin was Elvis. Listen to this and you can easily hear where Aretha got her chops. His ministry in Detroit inspired the generation of artists that became MoTown.

If there was a roll done on the Greatest African-American Preachers of All Time, Rev.C L Franklin would have to be number one. A legend no preacher worth his salt would not have these sermons in their library. Especially Bapticostals!!!!!

I would call this so-so. It was OK, nothing special. Now that I've bought it, I would not discard it, but if I could travel back in time, I would not buy it.
