Most Helpful Customer Reviews

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By John M. on December 3, 2008
Format: Audio CD
There is no tenor battle here. Tracks 1-5 are with Houston Person and Pat Martino. The other session features Booker Ervin and no guitar player. Billy James is the drummer on both. Ervin lays out and it's just Don and Billy on Theme For Dee. Recorded in 1964 and 1967 for Prestige records --79 mins.

Format: Audio CD
These Legends are cooking. If you like burning solos by virtuosos like Pat Martino(Guitar), Houston Person(sax),
Don Patterson(Hammond Organ) and more, then you'll love this CD. Classic Jazz blues at it's best.
