British classical scholar LEONARD W. KING (1869-1919) was Assistant Keeper of Egyptian and Assyrian Antiquities at the British Museum and professor of Assyrian and Babylonian archaeology at the University of London, King's College. He also wrote Babylonian Magic and Sorcery (1896) and A History of Sumer and Akkad (1910).

This book, Legends of Babylon and Egypt, contains good historical information on this mysterious and ancient civilization and its influence on the states surrounding the Mediterranean. All ancient books, like this one are difficult to author because of translation difficulties consequently a reader can lose sight as to which is the messenger or what is the message. I think the translations for this books content are OK.
