My first expoure to The Legends of Doo Wop was on the PBS Doo Wop 50 show. Of course there was a ton of great Doo Wop groups featured on that program which certainly made it tempting to contribute to my local PBS station and get the video. But what clinched my contribution, however, was Legends. And now they have their own CD. If you're a Fifties nut like I am, you NEED this CD in your collection. This is sing along Doo Wop. Put this bad boy on your player and you can't help but sing whether you're bass, tenner, alto, etc., there's a voice in Legends for you. And if you're like me, music always makes the job go faster and easier. With Legends of Doo Wop, you're done before you know it! Yeah, the Seven Dwarfs may have whistled while they worked, but thanks to Legends, you can "Doo Wop" while you work! Enjoy!

If you love doo-wop and the fabulous love songs of this era, then "The Search Is Over". This is definately an album for your collection. This foursome comprised of lead singers Tony Passa (The Fascinators), Frank Mancuso (The Imaginations) and Steve Horn (Five Sharks) backing up the incredible Jimmy Gallagher (The Passions) is the most unique sound imaginable. Such favorites as "The Mystery of You", "Goodnight Baby", "This Is My Love" and "I Only Want You" bring back many wonderful memories. "Just To Be With You" tugs at your heart and you'll want to listen to it over and over. The Iceman, Jerry Butler, probably said it best: "their sound is just as sweet as when they first waxed their tunes" (Doo Wop 50 Reunion, December 1999). The harmony of these talented men is unequaled. For those who understand and appreciate beautiful music and true talent, this is the sound for you. This is an exceptional CD of the Legends own unique incomparable music. If Santa would come early and bring me tickets to their performance in Atlantic City in October, I would be the happiest lady on earth. This CD is the next best thing to hearing them perform live.

I recently bought this CD as a surprise for my husband. We loved the Legends on PBS and immediately my husband started to look for their CD. He was unable to find one, but I found it on Amazon. If you love doo wop then this is the CD for you. He likes songs from the late 50s and I like songs from the 60s. This is one album that we both like. It has the doo wop sound that he likes and the romantic ballads that I like.

Back in the days of doo wop, there were so many many groups singing and trying to make a go at it, that most groups were going to be one hit wonders period. Then out there in vast beyond four guys, three of whom were the lead singers of particular doo wop groups and the fourth guy who I think is the epithany of all bass men that I've ever heard form a group. The end result is probably the best doo wop harmony that I've heard ever. I saw them on the "Doo Wop 50" show, on pbs and I was amazed, and that inspired me to by this cd. To be able to sound this good say 40 years later is real neat. By this cd, put it in your player and take a trip back in time to hear great music that is timeless. The way that it was recorded gives you the effect of being right there in the concert listening to them. This doo wop Cd has that classic doo wop sound....takes me back to the day.....the selection of songs is also terrific...I definitely recommend Legends of Doo Wop Alive to die hard doo wop fans.

What a wonderfully talented group appeared on the horizon to many of us at the first Doo Wop special from Pittsburgh. Because I am a resident of Tampa, I was delighted to hear the these four talented guys now call Florida their home. Their renditions of these great hits are nothing short of spectacular, especially when you read that they only used a couple of microphones so as to ensure the authenticity of their singing performances. If you like the hits of the 50's and early 60's, you will not be disappointed by the great lead vocals of Jimmy Gallagher and the rest of the guys. My only wish is that I could hear them in person some time soon. Their web site provides some information -- albeit sketchy descriptions of the group's activities. This is a group that must be heard in person to believe, but if you buy the CD you will get pretty good idea of the versatility and synergy exuded by the Legends. Thanks guys.

Whatout any reservation whats-so-ever, The Legends of DooWop are as good today (if not better) than when they first cut their hits way back when. I have personnally attended their live performances in Las Vegas. Their vocal sounds in person are absolutely remarkable! If you truly want to hear the best... and relive the sounds just as they were back then... treat yourself to this alblum. Then go see The Legends perform in a live show. You will be pleased beyond your expectations.......

Very often I have seen the old stars of my youth at work,with their first love. Music of course is the greatest way to any human's hart. Oh what memories I do have as a singer and a fan of the oldies. If we could share this with the world would there be any wars. Everyone dreams of being a star of some kind in their life,and we all have that chance to at least try. With this internet review it makes posiable for all of us to see what others have done. The best to you all and keep a song in you hart always.
