I came across this book while looking for "fantasy" and "Ireland" and "series". I'm a big fan of fantasy "Young Adult" novels such and Harry Potter and Twilight but have been a bit tired of the teenage vampire novel. The reviews were good and the synopsis was interesting but I can't begin to tell you how they pale in comparison to the actual read itself! Chapter one was a bit tough at first because there are a handful of Irish names that you have to get used to. By the end of the chapter however, the story drew me in and I had a hard time putting this book down. I found myself cheering for the relationship between the brothers and deeply concerned about the mother. I wanted to know about the castle and what everyone was hiding! I started reading this book at a cafe, continued it that night into the wee hours of the morning. I woke up and took it with me to the bathroom to read there because I just couldn't wait!! I truly could not put this book down!

It's hard to say too much without giving away some of the secrets but I will say this, the setting of the book is magical, the characters are well-developed and truly interesting. The subject matter is a breath of fresh air among other fantasy novels. The best part is that this is just book one. There's still a whole series to follow!

As a side note, I had the pleasure of meeting the author, Meadow Griffin in Big Bear and she is an amazingly spirited upcoming writer and artist! I'm happy to have found this book early in her career.

I have read many fantasy fiction books such as the Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Chronicles of Narnia. Legends of Erin is by far my favorite.

Right from the start, this book takes you into a world of wonder and amazement. The characters are rich. The dialogue is witty. And the story is simply beautiful. The tales I enjoy the most are the ones that sweep me off my feet, into another realm, and keep my mind there even when I'm not reading the book. Legends of Erin does this and more.

The author brought me through an emotional journey craftily interwoven with sadness, joy, mystery, and outright hilarity. The author should not only be certified as a master storyteller, but a comedienne as well. She is so funny!

As far as who this book is for, this is a great novel for children and adults. I am a 21 year old university student and I wish this book existed in my youth - my childhood would have been way more cool.

One of my favorite aspects of the book are the Christian themes enfolded into the story. It not only contains an awesome story, but also has beautifully symbolic moments of Christ and His sacrificial love - perfect for introducing young children to the love of God.

All in all this has become my favorite fantasy book and I cannot wait to see how the adventure unfolds as the story continues in upcoming sequels.

Being a skeptic to most fantasy books my opinion drastically changed once I read this book. A wonderful series for all ages that I will definitely continue to read and pass on to all my friends. Having the privilege of developing a close relationship to the author and seeing the inspiration for her characters come alive within her family members is an incredible experience. This book has something for everyone and readers of all ages will certainly be able to relate to it.

Legends of Erin: Beyond the Castle Door is a great book about three young boys who have no idea who they are. What twelve year old boy does? But Fadin, Tase, and Clearie are in for more surprises than most. It turns out their family is very prominent in some very strange circles. This book has family squabbles, new friends, feelings of betrayal, and lots of self-discovery. It's a great read and I wait with bated breath for the next installment.

Although intended for a younger audience, I (as a 40 something adult) absolutely loved it. The characters are well developed and I greatly appreciate the sense of family loyalty and deep abiding love. The book has a great sense of adventure and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I was transported to another world and had a great time while I was there. I simply CANNOT wait for the next book to come out! I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story that includes fantasy, adventure, love and family.
