This is an informative book on Louisiana culture as well as a very good reference cook book. I enjoyed a lot of interesting tidbits that I was not aware of and many that reminded me of my childhood in the bayou. It also refreshed my memory on a lot of traditional family recipes that I had just forgoten over the years.
