5.0 out of 5 stars If you love Louisville and you love baseball, read it, July 10, 1998

This review is from: Legends of Louisville: Major League Baseball in Louisville 1876-1899 (Hardcover)
The best (and only) source of information on baseball in Louisville, KY in the late 19th century. It takes you from the first box score ever recorded in Louisville to their charter membership in the National League to their last year in major league basball in 1899. The best part of the book is the entire chapter devoted to Pete Browning, Louisville's only true superstar of the 19th century. With great pictures, humorous anecdotes, and a wealth of information, this book is the last word on baseball in 19th century Louisville.
