When Thaddeus Flint took his carnival to the stars, he had visions of untapped riches on worlds that had never experienced his brand of show. Unfortunately, the reality is starkly different. He didn't count on the aliens being, well, alien. The cultural and physical differences create obstacles to Flint's ability to separate his marks from their money. The strippers can't titillate audiences that can't appreciate their anatomy, the animal trainer's animals aren't coping with the constant environmental changes, and the midway games don't play as well as they did on Earth.

Still, Flint is resourceful and a fast learner. As he figures out how to adapt his carnival to his new audiences, he slowly begins to become profitable. In the meanwhile, his star stripper is becoming mentally unhinged as she realizes that she might never find an audience that appreciates the talents that define her whole life. Can Flint find a role that will satisfy her need to perform her art or will she succumb to depression? Another brief but fun book about Earth's furthest traveled carnival!
