A Sci-fi movie that everyone will love,
By A Customer
This review is from: Legion [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Tonight as I was going through the t.v. I noticed that the movie Legion was coming on and since I had never seen the movie before I thought I would watch it, and I was very happy that I did, it turned out to be one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, this is a great movie and it really keeps you guessing about who is the killer, infact I guesses almost everyone to be the killer, until they got killed (lol) except for the killer, I mean it was the last person I had ever excpected, when i found out that the movie was only going to air one more time this month and that was two hours after I watched it, I had to rewatch and recorde the movie. Plus the movie had Corey Feldman, who I had not seen in a movie in a long time, and he did a great job, he played a computer nerd and he was scared of everything and his Charachter seemed so real, I belive that he did one of the best jobs acting in this movie of most any actors!! I would tell everyone to watch this movie just once and i am sure that they will have to watch it again and again!

A terrific low-budget gem,

Interesting how 4 reviews are split right down the middle. The thing to understand about movies like these is that they can't afford the studio special effects and production values. Good B-movies are made by their story and script and this one crackles. I saw it on the same weekend that "Species 2" came out and I felt this one -- done on a shoestring budget -- was much better. A fun, fast moving space mystery.

This sci-fi thriller follows one of the classic mystery-thriller storylines: a group of strangers is brought together in a remote location and then begin to die one by one. In this case, the "strangers" are military prisoners who have accepted a highly dangerous mission in lieu of execution, the "remote location" is an enemy fueling station, and the deaths are grisly murders which seem to have been committed by something as much beast as human. Who is doing the killing? And why? And why aren't there any enemy soldiers at this supposedly important base?Terry Farrell plays the major in command of the unit, with Parker Stevenson as her #2 -- and the first person to start to figure out what's wrong. Corey Feldman and Rick Springfield are also featured. Each of them does a nice job with their part -- not that they've been given a lot to work with. I'm a sci-fi fan, but I'm not into thrillers or space-military movies. I wouldn't give this movie more than one or two stars if I wasn't also a Parker Stevenson fan -- and reviews I've seen here and elsewhere lead me to suspect that unless you're a fan of Farrell, Stevenson, Feldman or Sprigfield you probably won't want to invest much time or money on this film.

what a complete waste of time and money,

I have no idea how it did in the theater, and further, I don't much care. Even with the acting potential of Terry Farrell (Star Trek, Deep Space Nine) and Parker Stevenson (Hardy Boys, Baywatch), this just plods along. A group of military criminals are given one last chance--go on a mission to occupy a space-outpost, held by enemy forces. Unfortunately, something is loose, and killing everyone nearby. The acting was wooden, everyone seems capable of two emotions--fear and anger. There are no light points, no comedic moments, no gentleness in the movie. There are no low moments that are necessary to the increase in tension. As a result, the tension never really gets going, and the entire movie falls flat. It's not really even worth one star, but Amazon.com has that as a minimum. I'm glad I rented it. I'd probably try to return it if I'd actually bought it.

Legion: A Lesion on the movie industry!,

Terry Farrell, Rick Springfield, Parker Stevenson, Corey Feldman are the "headline" actors in this flat and slow moving Sci-Fi Channel exclusive. None of them are directed to their potential in this excuse of an "Aliens" wannabe. Poor storyline also contributes. Only buy this if you are a deranged fan of one of the actors and you want to throw away a hundred bucks.
