Editorial Review

Fans of Harry Potter can now reenact the scene of Harry, Ron, and Hermione encountering the mountain troll in the bathroom at Hogwarts. This 71-piece set features standard LEGO-style blocks and, of course, figures of Harry Potter and the mountain troll. The menacing troll is holding a large club and is dressed in his fabriclike loincloth with vest, while Harry is wearing a black robe and holding his magic wand. Tilt the shelf underneath the bathroom sink and it will fall over, adding realism and fun to the scene. The 15-page instruction book is detailed, fully illustrated, and easy to follow. The only things missing are figures of Ron and Hermione. --N. Mered

4.0 out of 5 stars The LEGO Harry Potter Set: Troll on the Loose is so cool!!!!, September 27, 2002
A Kid's Review

This Lego set is pretty fun and very durable (Compare to larger and more complex Lego sets). The Harry and Troll's pants and cloak etc. are hard to get on. As usual. Lego never made it easy when building the Mini People (Or "monsters" in this case!). The way the sink can break down and the Troll with a realistic club and the way it looks that it could destroy everything in it's path is cool. However, it's NOT A CHALLENGE to anyone above 7. I got it done in 2 min. and 27 sec. I enjoy a Lego Challenge at night on Saturday and watching cartoons or "Kid" Comedy Shows (Example: Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, Boy Meets World or Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show etc.). The Lego Set: Dinosaur Adventures is a great challenge. Lego has it's Pros and it's Cons on their toys. I am a boy. Like every boy in the USA, every boy loves Legos (And some girls to).

P.S. For those who like to build and play this is for you!(Play with the people on your creation if you see what I mean.)
I am one of those boys or girls.

This set is great! I got it from my friend on my birthday and once I put it together I couldn't wait to get my hands on more Harry potter legos. My sister got me the Quidditch practice set and my other friend got me the final challenge. My mom got me the dueling club too!! The best ones are Quidditch practice and the dueling club because you san acually play with it. The Quidditch Practice one has a catapault so you can lauch the Quaffle into the golden hoop. The dueling club has a little knob on the stage that you twist and the person standing on it ( Malfoy, Harry, Gilderoy, or Snape.) goes flying of the stage into the wall. All of these are good and i'm still trying to get all of them.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Price is Right, January 16, 2002

I personally am not fond of the mountain troll in the movie, the book, or the PC game. However, lego mountain troll is a different story! Even though only one arm swings (an oversight by lego because he needs to swing his club AND be able to hold Harry in his other hand) Mr. Mountain Troll gets a spiffy loin cloth that spans the girth of his belly and a neat vest. His legs have sort of a pebbly texture and his face has a truly brainless expression. Very small head in proportion to his body as well. I wish lego would make a piece that could be a skull cap to represent bald figures but that is not too important.

At any rate, what we have here is the bathroom, with one faucet, a sink that can spill over, harry, the troll, a pumpkin (though what one is doing in the bathroom I have no idea) and a tipping section that lets brown blocks fall. The set replaces the sorting hat set underneath the final challenge if you were to assemble everything lego has put out so far so that is why they made it so small. My sister really loves the sink. Either way, we'll be seeing more bathroom sets when Moaning Myrtle shows up. :)

The price fits even though the set is small because the detail on our mountainous friend is worth it even if the troll's legs are stationary. By the way, this is one of the first 2002 series sets so snap it up for your favourite valentine. . .what other gift says "i care" like a troll lego set? Oops, I'm the only one that would want legos from a valentine. :) For those of us with minimal finances, check out the remembrall set with harry and malfoy on brooms even though I'm still waiting for a neville minifig.
