4.0 out of 5 stars Lego Aqua Raiders - lots of fun
I have a 7 year old son who really loved this lego toy. We purchased other lego sets for Christmas and I was really unsatisfied with the small pieces - it was too challenging for him and he got frustrated. The aqua raider had bigger parts and he put together the submarine in no time. Lots of fun for him and good for mom too. The sub is now one of his favorite toys and...

3.0 out of 5 stars can't play with it after it's built
this is usually a problem with megabloks, and not legos: this set does not stay together when you actually try to play with it. the teeth fall out, and the jaw is too heavy for the hinges. it's a problem with several of the toys in this series - heavy limbs and vehicle attachments with poorly-designed anchors.

this is usually a problem with megabloks, and not legos: this set does not stay together when you actually try to play with it. the teeth fall out, and the jaw is too heavy for the hinges. it's a problem with several of the toys in this series - heavy limbs and vehicle attachments with poorly-designed anchors.

the other current series - crystal miners, galactic police - don't seem to have the same problems, so we've gotten the boys interested in those instead. the crappy sharks and octopuses are now used as "smash dummies" - the narrative of the day eventually works around to sturdier lego creations defeating them with some sort of spectacular blunt-force trauma, and the body parts go flying. little red legos become blood spatters. yep. lemonade from those lemons. also? the gratuitous violence is easily segued into a rudimentary physics and calculus lesson to make the blood spatters realistic. don't try to tell me this isn't educational! 5 stars on that count, yo.
