Recently bought one of these to help my kids more easily separate hard stuck legos on their own. Then a few days later, I ordered another. It seems that for the really flat lego pieces and other hard to separate pieces, they are so hard to hold onto with bare hands that two of these may be required. With two it's not too hard to separate lego pieces, but with just one there is little improvement over bare hands.

Ideally, I think these should be sold as a set of two for a more reasonable price, or come with an explanation of how to separate the flat pieces using just one of these.

I first read about this handy tool in Jonathan Bender's LEGO: A Love Story, and like the author I thought it sounded like the Lego equivalent of a snipe hunt. The brick separator is real though. I was browsing at the local Lego store, picked one up, and am just amazed at how well this tool works.

When I was growing up, I had to resort to bending the more flexible pieces (and breaking more than a few) or using my teeth (which left a lot of scarred Lego bricks). Now I just use this separator to pop those stuck bricks apart. It's ridiculously easy, and once you have it you wonder how you ever got by without one. It's a must-have tool for all Lego fans, and comes in especially handy for those of us building with our child/ren, who would otherwise end up frustrated by stuck bricks.

The separator is a great tool to remove most legos. It is still more difficult to remove legos that come in a packaged set like Star Wars. At times, you need to remove one that this tool doesn't fit because of their specific design. The pieces come off very easily if they are standard legos. I bought 3 because the shipping costs more than the tool. Overall, the tool does it's job on regular legos and can sometimes help with the specialized ones.

The wrong tool will scar or break your pieces. Using two of these, for top and bottom of the stack, will leverage the pieces apart with no effort. This just works. Wish I had this years ago.

Just got this little gem in the mail and already my life as a Mom of 2 lego loving young boys is a bit easier!!! Seriously, my 3 year old can even get some of those thin little lego pieces apart all by himself that usually takes me all of my patience and energy to do!!! Hallelujah to the inventor of this thing!!! I should have bought 2 of them, though, as they both want to use it all of the time now!!! I purchase from Amazon as we get free s/h with the Prime Membership, but it is only $[...] if you get it direct from Lego if you are a deal searcher!

I purchased two of these neat little tools. So worth it when you are working with Legos. It works like a charm and I no longer have broken nails from trying to pry apart the Lego pieces. A must for every Lego lover.

As you may recall from my previous LEGO reviews, I'm no expert of the brick toys. I grew up on K'Nex, but decided to get my kid sister some LEGOs as a gift to deter her from video games (which proved successful).

So, I remember her mentioning that some of the LEGOs were getting stuck and difficult to pry apart and, also remembering from my childhood memories my peers owning their own LEGO sets, decided to get her this separator as part of a Christmas gift.
Since I never really used this before, it took me a couple tries before I realized how to successfully use it and, sure enough, it makes taking apart LEGOs a cinch.

In conclusion, it's pretty much a "must-buy" for any LEGO fan and user.

My 5 year old grandson and all the adults in our family think that the Lego Brick Separator is a great product invention. It was impossible for my grandson's small fingers and my arthritic ones to get the lego blocks apart. Now it is a breeze. Every Lego household should have at least three of them.

Dude... no more split fingernails at our house. this little gizmo is a must have for any lego fan.

This item is very useful and helps you remove bricks off your model easier than with fingernails.
Beware of pricing - it is a $2.50 item at any Lego store or online. Lego prices on Amazon are shocking to say the least - many sets are overpriced, even though they are available from a Lego store at the original price. Be smart - shop around, including the Lego store on their website, which has great service too.
