My five year old grandson really loves it.

What I like best about the set is that it naturally encourages building and rebuilding different designs rather than one particular thing.

Lego should develop more toys like this to serve the education purpose.

I enjoy building Lego with my kids and, frankly, we probably have all of the included parts already (if we were willing to take a few things apart). I was wary of the product because we aren't klutzes when it comes to things mechanical. But this has proved a great rainy-day toy that we can do together. We build a contraption, play with it for a week or two, and then take it apart and build the next one. Not all of the plans are terribly inspired, but it works for us. I should say that we are dealing with little kids (down to 4 years old) and that I'm not sure how well this set would work for older kids. A ten or twelve year old would probably tear through the designs in an hour and then want more parts to build something else. What I like best about the set is that it naturally encourages building and rebuilding different designs rather than one particular thing. So, it's a great toy if this sounds like something you'd enjoy sharing with your kids. Also, you should be able to find this toy on Amazon at below MSRP.

My 5 years old daughter with my help could create various gadgets and machines. This set allows you to create variety of machines and each machine has moving parts that include rubber bands and wheels.

My 2 sons really like this toy. They played for a serveral days with it. It helped kids to understand how gears working with each other. Lego should develop more toys like this to serve the education purpose. I highly recommend to the kids in age 6 to 10.

My 9-year-old son loves this. It kept him busy for a good couple of hours. This book is getting hard to find, so get it while you can...

Fun, simple, clear instructions, daughters love it.

Also many of the parts are useful for "bridging" between legos and Mindstorm.

I ordered this for my 7yo for his birthday. Right out of the wrapping paper, it didn't have the same wow-factor as the Star Wars Lego set he got, BUT weeks later it's *this* set that has the continued play-value. Many of the projects are just a little too complicated for him, though he easily builds more complex "regular" Lego sets. However, his 12yo sister sits with him and helps him when he gets stuck, and they both LOVE it! It has been officially dubbed "slick as seal snot." ...I'm pretty sure that's a good thing, lol.
