Legos are awesome toys. We have 4 kids and the Legos we bought for the oldest one 11 years ago are still in active use by the youngest today. Alas, it is with great disappointment to see that Lego is cheapening up the experience like all other manufacturers.

The Duplo construction truck we bought 11 years ago is much better built than this set from the same series. The 11-year old truck had a cool flashing light and very quiet "siren" sound that is STILL working TODAY! I saw the lights on the truck in this new set, and I thought it would be the same, but it does not flash.

What I always liked about Legos, and what makes them such great toys, is that EVERYTHING was modular on older sets and could be made into something new. The truck and tractor design are not really modular on this new set, but more like a chasis upon which you can add blocks. On older sets you could take the wheels off, and take everything apart into much smaller pieces to make something completely new. This new set is more like a single-use toy and has very little of the flexibility everyone loves about older Lego.

I have a hard time giving Legos anything less than 4 or 5 stars, but compared to the 11-year old set, this one is definitely cheapened up to save money for the manufacturer, but at the expense of the child's experience, and probably at the expense of longevity.

My two year-old loves this set. In fact, he took the digger to bed with him for his nap today.

We got the set today at the Lego outlet store for a great discount. I wouldn't pay $150 for it, but it is great. We have lots of Duplos and this crane is really cool.

Got this for my 3 year old for Christmas. The crane is very neat & easy for his to operate. I like that it doesn't fall apart easily. Great trucks come with the set too. My son loves the realism & ease of use.
Lots of long term play value!

I wanted to buy Duplo's for my son's 5th b-day as he seems to break every other toy he gets. My son and 3 yr old daughter both love this set. I had been looking for a set like it and I honestly saved $100 by purchasing it on Amazon. It was $150 reg price and I bought it for $50. Everything was new in the box. So far all pieces have held up. My fave thing is my son is able to set it up himself- He isn't constantly bringing it to me to help put parts together. Vehicles come as one piece, sometimes a few but not in a bunch of small ones.
