This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Snowspeeder (7130) (Toy)
Despite being a licenced set, this is still a throwback to the golden age of Lego space sets. In these days of simplistic designs, the Snowspeeder is refreshingly complex, and marvellous attention is paid to detail - from a distance you could almost swear you were looking at one of the real models used in 'Empire Strikes Back', and there's even a little computer screen showing an approaching AT-AT, so full marks for accuracy on all counts. By way of a cherry on the cake, this set comes with one of those little radar-dish guns used against the giant walking machines. Whether you're a Star Wars fan or not, this is well worth adding to any Lego collection.

Considering the snowspeeder is one of my favorite Star Wars craft, this set was a must -- and well worth the price. The design is very faithful to the movie version of the ship, and there are many eye-catching details to enhance its appearance. While I will never regret this purchase, I must (as always!) offer a few criticisms. First, the rear gunner compartment is HUGE, and it adds several unnecessary layers to the back of the ship. In fact, I would say the ship has a bad case of hemorrhoids. The sad part is that this was completely avoidable; if the Lego techs had left out the rather useless cargo compartment, the gunner's space could have moved forward, creating a far more attractive (and realistic) vessel. Both fore and rear compartments are a little cramped, so I hope Luke and Dack don't get sent on an extended mission. Also, I think that by removing the cargo hold, the hatches on the ship could have been more accurately rendered. But, hey - in spite of these flaws, I still ain't askin' for a refund!

This is one of the best sets on the market. It was also my first, and it's what got me hooked. The Luke Skywalker is kind of boring, because he's in almost every set. The little opening cockpit on the back is cool and it has the little rotating tow cable launcher. It is very accurate and has very few cheater pieces. Even a detailed radar of the AT-ATs!
