I just recently bought this for my 5 year old Star wars fanatic. Being an experienced Lego builder, I guided him through the building process, which was pretty sophisticated for this level of Lego set. All the other reviews here are correct, this thing is awesome! Plenty of interior detail, including: many hand tools, Han, Leia, C3PO, Snowtrooper, and Chewie (NO R2D2, though!!). The ramp and escape pod are nice, as is the hyper-drive area and gun turret seat and game table areas.I can tell you how cool it is all day but here are my gripes: First, the architecture and weight of the falcon lends to alot of stress to the area just below the main gun turret, which supports the front and the rear of the ship through two hidden beams in the floor (the roof, escape pod bay and ramp area give no structural support to the falcon). If you plan to display your falcon, no prob, but if you plan to fly it, this can pose a problem. If you have spare Legos from other kits, you will want to consider making a hidden chassis built off the two long beams under the floor beneath the gun turret extending forward and aft to strengthen the falcon (there is room in the floor because of the sandwich style nature of the floor so that no one can see your modification BUT you WILL need to remove some of the black bricks to do this). As a matter of fact, while doing that, I also made the fenced floor piece that comes with the set removeable for the hidden compartment like in the movie (I can fit 3 figures under the floor panel now!!!). The modifications are best done once you assemble the kit first according to instructions then going back to mod. My second gripe is that the hallway that leads to the cockpit from the rest of the ship doesn't exist. Bummer. And the third gripe is that this design forgot to include the lower gun turret/laser cannon underneath the ship, though this is an easy fix with spare parts from other sets you may own. Even with these shortcomings, the set was WELL worth buying. IT IS EASILY THE BEST STAR WARS LEGO SET RELEASED. My son absolutely loves playing it and I enjoy making mods to the 'ole Falcon, kinda like Han Solo himself did. Hope this review helps you in your quest for your Star Wars Lego collection!

What isn't to love about Star Wars and Lego's together. Unfortunately, this set just wasn't well thought through. It is an extreemly touchy model suited more to display on a shelf (where it looks great) than play on the floor. The drivers side pod pops off often (say that 10 times fast), the entry hatch breaks, the lid pieces don't stay in place, etc. In comparrison to the X-wing, which has stayed together for weeks, the Falcon was apart after the second day.The pieces that you get are awesome so I would definately purchase it again, but I doubt that it will ever be re-assembled into the Millenium Falcon.

My parents bought this toy for my 6 year old for Christmas. It took us 2-3 hours to build, mainly because Lego does not organize the pieces in any logical fashion. This toy is much different from the legos that I built as a kid, it has tons of specialized individual pieces, and is more like building a model than a traditional Lego toy. In fact, my son has a couple of these Star Wars lego toys and once we built them we put them up on the shelf in his room for display.Lego makes it easy for kids to put these together. The instructions are actually very nice. The age range is 9-up but my kid is 6 and he was able to read and understand the directions (I just sit and make sure that he puts the pieces together tightly). Once assembled, I wouldn't recommend playing with it as the Lego joints can't handle twisting force very well and some joints fall apart no matter how tightly you put them together. The only part of the model I found poor, was the entrance platform: no matter how tightly you secure the pieces, opening the door more than a couple times pulls the piston away from the connecting piece. Easily fixed, but this part of the design could have been better.

This is a very fun toy to build. i had great time builing it. It is a bit hard to build if you do NOT know what you are doing. ( but I do ) I'm 12 years old and have built very many Lego sets. I would say this toy is for kids 10 years old and up but that is my say. overall its a very fun toy. Have fun building!!!!!!!

This set was a lot of fun to construct, but it is less durable than I had anticipated. The hinged "roof" must be carefully balanced in order to open and close properly. And, once constructed, it really has no use other than display. It is far too brittle to be a children's toy, but is a nice addition to a serious Star Wars collection.

I got this lego 3 days ago and thought, after reading several reviews, that it wouldn't be fun. I was wrong. I don't really get why people call it such a bad lego. It did break alot when i built it, but when it is done, it is great! It is hard to get Chewie and Han in the cockpit, but that's about the only bad thing! I think this is a really good buy!

I was very excited when I got this in the mail. It took me 4 hrs (with breaks) to completely build. Then when I finished, it. I noticed that the base floors are very weak. They are made of 7 big flat pieces and held together by thick bricks. When building the sides (where the pod and platform that doesn't work) and the center, you notice the weakness. What I suggest is buying one of the Creator sets and using all of the thick bricks to sturdy the bottom. Do this before you build the top because otherwise it all falls apart and becomes a huge pain in the butt. Other than that, this set is great. The only other thing I dont like is that they have Han and Leia in the skin tone colors.

Over all, this set is very fun. When I first put it together, a brick fell of of the front, I went to put it back, and when I pushed it in, the whole thing fell in half! It was imposible to put that together, or at least for me. So I pulled it all apart and started from scratch. But that was OK, this model was very fun to put together. It took about 3 hours. But since I put it together again, it hasn't fallen apart. So just push in the pieces really tight, and it SHOULD stay together(did for me). But this on of the top ten lego models I've played with. It's got a ramp. Which, unfortunatly, is very hard to mske paople walk up. But it's pretty cool how you pull the little knob on the side and it lowers down. Next, the little escape pod. Lift up the knob on the other side and pull it out. Pretty cool. Then, I guess it's the cargo hold. When you lift up one of the little flaps to see indide, its under one of those with a little box with binoculars in it. Lift up the middle to see inside the gunning room. Not much there. And the cockpit, although you can squeeze both Han and Chewie in it, is much smaller than in real life. Also, unlike the movie version, there's no hallway from the cockpit to the main ship. But this ship has more pros than cons and i would deffinently reccomend it.

The Millenium Falcon is a fairly good set. It includes a cool escape pod that can easily detach from the set. The set has a movable roof, so you dont have to take the roof of to see inside. My favorite bit is the gun turret (it only has one, on the top ,a minifigure fits inside. It also includes a laser gun for the snowtrooper to try to destroy the ship ,just like in the 5th movie. It would be better if it included more minifigures , like Luke and R2-D2. It has many features from the movie, making it realistic. The landing gear fall off if you are not careful. The inside off the ship is cool, and you can fit a lot of minifigures inside. It is a major improvment from the first Millenium Falcon set. I think it is quite cheap when compared to its value. I would buy this set if you are a LEGO fan.
