Product Description

Editorial Review

This hulking armored vehicle, from Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace, is used to ferry Trade Federation battle droids to combat sites. Included in this 466-piece set are seven of these deadly battle droids, one to drive the transfer and six stowed with their blasters in a standard deployment rack. The rack fits snugly behind the hinged front end of the MTT (Multi-Troop Transport), which can be used as a battering ram for colliding through structures and walls to unload the troops within enemy installations. On the battlefield the MTTs provide cover for the troops with four anti-personnel blasters. The transport can separate into two distinct parts, the front end remaining a pared down assault vehicle, and the back end folding out into a command station. Like most LEGO sets, this one comes with illustrated instructions and examples of all the transports, weapons, tanks, and other evil that can be configured for Rebel destruction. --M. Sullivan

4.0 out of 5 stars My Thoughts on a Great Toy, February 5, 2001
A Kid's Review
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Lego Star Wars Set #7662 Trade Federation MTT (Toy)
When I ordered this toy I expected lots of fun, and that's what I got. If you think it's not fun because it breaks a lot, first of all follow the age group recommendation. If you're not good at building things that fall apart easily, you shouldn't buy this product. When I looked at the box in a store I thought the back had no room, and then when I got it I was surprised to see room. I made a little quad laser cannon and put it in. It's also cool because it has lots of guys and cannons for destroying anything. I like the bumpy pieces at the bottom so it looks like it hovers above the ground, just like in the movie. It's a good buy for the size. There's a little piece of paper in it that corrects how you make the doors; you should choose what comes in the rule book because the rack of battle droids slides in and out a lot more easily. I recommend this toy!!!!!

When I bought this I was impressed by the craftsmanship and durability. The only bad things are that it only comes with 7 droids and the front and back separate too easily if you don't have that little flat tile on top. All in all, it is a very nice LEGO and I reccomend it to any Star Wars fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Battle Droid Set, April 8, 2001

This enjoyable set has a sleek design and appearance. It comes with lots of Battle Droids, and has storage space inside. The back portion has an activity center inside with computer consoles, etc.

The one drawback: it's a little pricey. I would have liked to have bought several, but at around ..., one is definitely enough.

Still, overall, it's a great set to have. I highly recommend it.
