Our selection demonstrates the ease with which L & S coped with the writing and producing of material that went way beyond the rock 'n' roll and R&B with which their names are most indelibly associated - whether that material was uptown soul, girl group, country, latin soul or 'adult contemporary'.
As ever, our CD is complemented by a handsomely and copiously illustrated booklet and impeccable sleevenotes from Mick Patrick (with input from Mike Stoller's son, Peter).
As before, the CD has been produced in collaboration with, and with the approval of, the men whose career it salutes. Although it's the last in our series of three, it is by no means the final chapter of a story that goes on to this day and that has involved many more triumphs in the interim.

Not What You Might Expect,

This review is from: This Is to Certify/Gemini Anthology (Audio CD)
If you know that Rick Price was,at one time, the bass player for the Move and was hoping(or even expecting) that this would sound like an extension of the Move sound, you'd be dead wrong! This 2 cd collection veers towards the pop sound with several heavily orchestrated tracks. When it's good, it's highly enjoyable and has a baroque feel in the vein of the Left Bank. On the other hand, there are tracks(for example, covers of "Mr. Bojangles" and "Galveston") that might make you cringe. For strict rock fans, there is little of interest here. But for fans of the 60's/70's British Top 40, this will be a treasure trove of jewels to be discovered.
