Expensive but the quality is worth the money,

This review is from: Leica 10x42 BN Black Binocular (Electronics)
These binoculars were a revelation to me. I was surprised that this level of quality was still available at any price in today's world of plastic disposable low quality consumer merchandise. These Leica binoculars feel like a heavy glass and metal brick in comparison to other cheaper binoculars. The image is bright and contrasty. The image snaps decisively into focus. You'll want to smash your cheap binoculars against the nearest wall after you've tried these. The one disadvantage of the grand Leica name is that I am much more careful with these binoculars than I would be with cheaper ones. Over the years I've owned it has stayed too often locked in my safe rather than with me in the car. A couple of minor quibbles: the thin leather case that comes with it is very flimsy, you may want to buy a more sturdy aftermarket case. No front lens covers were provided. There is a sturdy one piece rubber eyepiece cover and a very nice neoprene neckstrap. While the included neckstrap is of decent quality, I replaced it with an Op Tech binocular harness chest strap. This keeps the binoculars tight against your chest until you are ready to use them. Much better in the field than a standard strap which allows the binoculars to bounce against you chest with every move. Op/Tech Bino/Cam Harness, Elastic Version for Cameras & Binoculars - Black After some years of owning I wanted to mount this binocular on a tripod for steadier viewing. To my dismay I found that Leica does not provide the standard tripod screw hole found on many binoculars. Leica sells the Leica Stabilite binocular tripod adapter part 42220.Leica Stabilite Binocular Tripod Adapter This one hundrd dollar plus item is a plastic cradle with tripod mounting hole and rubber strap to secure the binoculars.
