Top Notch,

This review is from: Leica 8-12x42 Duovid Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
After using the lecia 10x25bca's while birdwatching in Central America I decided to move up a notch and try the duovid's. After seeing guides use the russian optics I was hesitate to purchase these. But what a difference!!!! These are as bright as any bino's I've used. The quality is top notch. The engineering is very user friendly. A bit heavy compared to the 10X25's but you get two magnification's for the price of one. Great for use at low light situations (dawn till dusk). The manual suggests WATERPROOF to 8 meters but swimming with the Duovid's is not of my list of things to do.

This review is from: Leica 8-12x42 Duovid Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
Leica is the best optic in the world an this binocular 8-12x42 is the most versatile. I hunt in the most critical condition with the worst and impredictable situations and this is my best partner of all my binoculars-

STOP!,
By MD (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Leica 8-12x42 Duovid Binocular (Black) (Electronics)
STOP! Do not buy the Leica DUOVID 8X42 - 12X42 binoculars. An outfitter friend and I each bought a pair of these binoculars at the same time, both binoculars failed in the same manner, and Leica did not stand behind either product.
Focus does not coincide when changing between 8X42 and 12X42. The mechanism used to change between 8X42 and 12X42 does not operate smoothly, and sometimes sticks and locks up. The eye cups are loose and do not stay at a desired setting. Use caution when buying a Leica product. Properly complete the warranty registration and keep your original receipt if you ever expect to request service. |
