Great case for the Panasonic LX3 as well as Leica D-LUX 4,

This review is from: Leica D-Lux 4 Leather Case, Brown (Electronics)
I really like this case a lot. It's very high quality and almost feels like Coach leather or something of that caliber.
It fits both the Panasonic LX3 and the Leica D-LUX 4, which are essentially the same cameras. My black camera looks great in this case and the case allows me to wear it on my belt or over my shoulder with the included strap diagonally across my chest. It looks very classy and seems sturdy and well-made. True Leica quality!

Excellent Case,

If you want to keep with the minimalist attitude of this camera, go for this perfect case. Its very retro, made extremely well, and completely protects the camera. There is not room for anything other than the camera and wrist strap, but allows me to carry it almost everywhere at any time. I have a 1951 Model IIIc with the original brown leather molded case. I suspect this new one will last 50 years as well.

Tried using a few padded nylon carrying cases/bags for my D-Lux 4 and found those inadequate for my needs, habits. I tend to take camera and gear around in backpack with all my other stuff, and the Leica case offers great protection. Its size also lets me tote the camera and case in hand with just the wrist strap. I've dropped it once from about chest height and the case stayed latched with the camera well protected. No damage.
I haven't had issues with the AF and aspect ratio switches getting changed inadvertently. I considered getting the stylin' handmade half-case from Italy (very classy and functional), but in the end opted for better protection in the Leica case. It's a little expensive, but in my opinion worth the cost.

Leica Leather Carry Case - A "lightweight" must have,

I highly recommend this case for the LEICA D LUX 4 camera. A good investment for this +price camera (1) lightweight (2) easy access to the camera (3) camera is safe/secure. Additionally, the quality of the leather/design is A+

These cases are nice. New. They are readily available from other online sites for 1/4 the price! I got sucked in and paid the price.

Very nice, built like a tank. Great protection adds some bulk but it is worth it. Only small problem when sliding in and out of case the leather lip can change the aspect ratio 16-9/4-3 etc to another position. No room for anything else. Has belt loop, stap is easy to remove and comes with wrist strap. I have ordered the handle but not rec. yet should be able to fit.

Leica camera case,

item is over priced and not well designed...there is no room for the camera and the camera carry strap as well...the case has its own strap but if using this case the camera cannot have any safety strap

Design and quality issue: Don't buy! Hookknob lost connection and cannot be used,

This review is from: Leica D-Lux 4 Leather Case, Brown (Electronics)
It was the second time I used the case. The camera fell off from my shoulder to the ground. The knob connecting the belt was not securely designed. The end of the belt cannot be connected to the case anymore. It was solely quality and design problelm. I contacted Leica in New Jersey, they didn't want to anything - poor poor service!
Maybe I wasn't lucky in buying this case. But you need really to watch out!

The amount you pay on this case can easily enough to pay for a brand new low end digital camera. Why did I buy it in the first place? for several personal reasons.
If I'm willing to pay about $800 for a point-and-shoot D-Lux 4 Leica, I wouldn't be cheap for not investing on a classy case. This particular Leica leather case turns out to be an excellent choice. The leather is not too hard or soft, just right. Keep in mind that if you are going to use the case, you will need to use the supplied leather straps tying to your camera, instead of the original one that comes with the camera itself. Other than carrying the case with the shoulder strap, you can also attach it securely to your belt. So you will have extremely easy access to it. The stitches on the case is very precisely done. I would get the brown case instead of the black, just because it looks a lot more classy in my opinion. This case is not cheap, but you get what you pay for, especially for a Leica. It's a whole different new universe.

This has to be the best looking Dlux4 camera case, makes it even more fun to take the camera along. It comes with a nice hand strap which can be tucked inside, or hang it outside the case should you opt to leave the shoulder strap at home. I do wish it could fit a spare memory card or viewfinder but this case fits like a glove. If you take accessories, look elsewhere or just place those items in your pocket. Be warned, you'll smile every time you look at this rich leather case.
