4.0 out of 5 stars Does a Good Job for the Money
The Leifheit 1-Liter Carafe, keeps my beverages warm for about 8-9 hours. I made some tea in evening and next morning it was still warm enough for me. The design looks like a large egg. 3.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly nice carafe
What makes this pot nice is its design. It keeps coffee reasonably warm (not as well as a proper thermos), and it's easy to use, since you only need to push the button to pour more, rather than having to unscrew the top. It's a little bulky, but that would probably only bother someone with a small kitchen like mine. My only real complaint is that it has a plasticky-chrome...

The Leifheit 1-Liter Carafe, keeps my beverages warm for about 8-9 hours. I made some tea in evening and next morning it was still warm enough for me. The design looks like a large egg. The "chrome" is plastic, not metal. I've noticed that when I pour with my right hand, pressing down on the release lever causes the top to start to unscrew. When I poor with my left hand it's fine. This is not a big issue, just thought I'd not it. Also, then the carafe is just about empty, you have to turn it almost upside down to get the remaining fluid out.

Overall, it's an efficient, kind of quirky looking carafe. For the price, it does a good job. I recommend it.

My only real complaint is that it has a plasticky-chrome look which kind of undermines the otherwise very stylish shape. I wish it were real metal.

I love the fact that I finally found a carafe that keeps hot beverages hot, but am sad that it won't hold a pot of coffee. I should have noticed that it was only 1 liter (oops, should have learned more of my conversion tables). I will probably look for at least a two liter of the glass insulated type, but for the amount it holds, it works great!

I bought it for my mother - and she loves it. It keeps coffee hot for a very long time.
And it's elegant looking - designed with some thought.
Pouring coffee into the carafe keeps it fresh and keeps it from burning, which is what
happens if you leave your coffee in the pot it was brewed in...

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like having a mistress, or for you ladies, a boy toy!, May 21, 2010

PROS:
Sleek modern design is oh la la sexy.
Keeps you warm for approx. 8-9 hrs.
Easy to use, 1 handed push button pour that does not drip.
Well built, the parts fit precisely together.
Does not look cheap. Even though it's chromed plastic, it does appear to be shiny stainless steel.
The interior chamber is glass. The beverage comes in contact with plastic only when it's poured.
Very reasonably priced.

CONS:
none really. I wish it was made in stainless steel, I'd pay the higher price.

OTHER:
1 liter capacity translates to nearly 34 oz, about 5-6 cups, or approx. 3 mugs of coffee. Do some math before purchasing & then griping about the size. Also, I had to laugh at Robert for complaining that the carafe needs to be turned nearly upside down to get the last drops. It's called gravity, brother. Expecting a manufacturer to defy the laws of physics is asking a wee bit too much, no?

I haven't used this yet but it's very nice looking. Modern design, lightweight. It's actually plastic but has a faux chrome finish that does NOT look cheap. I think it's probably better than a metal carafe b/c it is lighter and better insulated.
