Product Description

Having fresh cherries is a seasonal favorite. Desserts and preserves are best when made with fresh cherries but who has time to remove the pits from the large amount of cherries needed for a recipe? Leifheit's Cherrymat Stoner offers the most efficient way to stone cherries. With the Cherrymat Stoner, you can achieve rapid removal of stones from fresh and conserved cherries, leaving the fruit intact. The Cherrymat processes 25-pound of cherries in only one hour. A stainless steel plunger removes the pit from the cherry and captures it in the container. Canning and baking with cherries has never been faster or easier. Dishwasher safe; 2-year warranty.

4.0 out of 5 stars makes life a little easier December 3, 2009

I bought this cherry pitter with the intention of having a "production line" cherry pitter. While it does make the job much easier, I still have to monitor to make sure each cherry is actually pitted each time and that the pit falls into the collection device. It's not 100% foolproof, and the cherries don't just fall into place in the pitter each time you depress the handle, but it does make the job much easier (and less messy). Overall, I'm glad I bought it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect but still faster than a hand pitter May 18, 2010
I tried this out last night on some sour (pie) cherries. Because they are so small I had to feed them into the hopper one at a time, otherwise they'd crowd into the chamber three at a time. Even with this slow-down I found this faster and cleaner than pitting with a hand-held pitter. Only one cherry failed to pit, but a far more common problem was for the pit to tumble out of the chute still slightly attached to the cherry; this happened about 1 in 20 times. This is easy to see if you keep your eye on the cherries as they come out. I am pretty paranoid about missing a pit (I fear cracking my own, or worse, someone else's tooth) so I took it slow and watched each cherry.

I think this will work much better on sweet cherries.

I was unsure at first when I used the product, but once I developed a rhythm it went quickly and I was thrilled. I went through about 10 lbs of cherries in about 35 mins.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the BEST cherry pitter I have ever used!
FAR superior to hand held cherry pitters, where I would have to pull out the pits most of the time.

I didn't have to remove a single cherry by hand. Read more

The blade is very sharpe and should keep a good edge. It is very easy to use, simple to clean. My only concern is keeping all the parts together when in storage. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Works OK, but...
it still requires you to check your cherries for a missed pit every so often. Stop bugging me about reviews!

i find it to be very good in the way you put the cherries in and the pips fell through to the bottom

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work
I bought this to pit olives, and it doesn't work at all.
You must need an exact size to pit. It jams up, wastes a lot of fruit, and broke the first time I used it.
