I love the spinning/drying action of this product. All you do is soak the mop in the bucket and then put the mop head in the 'centrifuge' or spinner, press down on the handle, and voila, the mop head starts spinning and excess water is removed. I am not quite sure how it works, I am not a technical person (there are no batteries involved, and it seems a bit like a spin top toy), but in the end all I care about is that I do not have to wring this out manually but can just let this mechanism do the job, which gets the mop much drier anyway than I ever could with wringing it. Also, I've had occasional issues with painful thumbs and wrists (from typing), and so this works especially well in these circumstances as I do not have to twist my wrists/thumbs.
The only thing that I miss a bit is an actual bucket handle.Read more ›
This mop is unique in that you place it in the spinner, press down, and it spins the water out. No wringing action, no mess. It's very easy to use. It does a pretty good job of mopping, but does not have any ability to scrub. So if there are dried foods on your floor, this mop will not get them off.
The overall feel of this mop is really cheap. The handle bends if you press too hard (e.g. scrubbing), and I was worried I would break it. It does a pretty decent job of cleaning, but it's certainly not worth fifty dollars. As far as cleaning goes, my old traditional sponge mop cleans much better.
So I was excited to get the chance to try this mop. The funniest part to me is that the directions are in a few languages, but none of them are English. I'm a woman, I generally try to start with the directions to avoid problems later. But, hey, no problem. There are diagrams of screwing the pieces of the mop stick together, and each piece is numbered. Plus, the picture on the box helps.
It took about 3 or 4 minutes with my 5 and 7 year old daughters "helping" in order to put the mop stick together. Then I had to put the plastic piece that attaches to the mop bucket ON the mop bucket. It did take a few tries to get that placed right. In the mean time the silver mop bucket handle came separated from the bucket, but that was put back on easily enough.
I filled up the bucket, added soap, and went to use the bucket. It was a little trickier than I expected, but once I figured it out it was easy. It did take my girls longer to get the hang of wringing out the mop.
What you do is set the mop in the spinner part (but it does have to be in there in a "special" way) and then press down on the mop handle. That activates the spinning action. It's not a super fast spin that wrings out your mop quickly, so I use an up and down motion for it to continue spinning. I press down (starts the spin), then I release the "pressure" and press down again. I do this several times.Read more ›
