I have fond memories of playing the Leisure Suit Larry series. They were filled with hours of fun, puzzle solving and silly humor. I picked up this sad affair in the store and couldn't wait to start playing. I was disappointed immediately at the horrid controls (mind you I was using a keyboard to play). The controls would probably been better if I'd been using a joystick. The previous games were adventure games where your character was sent on a myriad of missions as he tried to solve puzzles that would lead him to eventual victory. This game is simply poorly done arcade style games followed by a cut scene, followed by yet another poorly done arcade game. As an example, instead of choosing between witty lines of dialogue for your character, you control a sperm using the arrow keys and have to move the sperm up and down as red or green items pass by from right to left. Hit the green items and Larry is cool and witty, hit the red items and he becomes more of a dweeb. Not great fun the first time and really, really, really not fun when you do it the 50th time. Too bad because the previous games really were terrific. I'd have given this 0 stars if that was possible.

I'll be honest, I've never wanted to get my hands on a game so bad in my life! But after reading all the revews i was doughtfull.

If you can forgive its brain-dead gameplay and occasionally frustrating design, Magna Cum Laude is a hysterically entertaining romp through a world of wacky sexual hijinks

Times sure have changed since the last time a Leisure Suit Larry game hit store shelves. Once the name in sexually charged adventure gaming, the Leisure Suit Larry series has been altogether dormant since the '90 Now, more than half a decade after the last Leisure Suit Larry, VU Games and developer High Voltage have brought out Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, a total reenvisioning of the franchise both from a gameplay and content perspective. Gone are the innuendo- and entendre-based gags of old, replaced by blatant, obscene, and downright insane humor that rivals most modern-day Hollywood comedies in terms of sheer hilarity and pure shock value.

Unfortunately, also gone are the appreciable adventure gameplay stylings of old, replaced by myriad shallow minigames that aren't particularly fun.

The primary minigame you'll find yourself faced with in Magna Cum Laude is the conversation minigame. How do you turn a conversation with a woman into a game? Why, by putting a window at the bottom of the screen and letting you navigate a smiley-faced sperm through a wacky obstacle course, of course!

Sounds deranged, doesn't it? It's actually not all that bad. Basically, the way in which you steer Larry's conversational course of lies and exaggerations is by controlling this happy little sperm. You will frequently come upon sections in the little obstacle course with three icons, one of which you will have no choice but to pass through.

I bought this game thinking that even if it wasn't like Leisure Suit Larry it would be a fun game - it wasn't. It's basically a playboy magazine with some comedy and lots of mini-games involved, if you wanted too you could skip all of the mini-games by finding tokens and just watch the cut scenes although you would miss part of the little storylines in the mini-games - I guess that's why there is complete and entire scripts of the games cut-scenes and minigames online for free.

Don't spend your money unless you really, really, really, really like mini-games.

I enjoyed this game years ago and relished the chance to play it again. A very funny game that consists mainly of mini games, and vulgar jokes.

One of the most fun and hilarious games I have ever had the enjoyment of playing. Hours of male chauvinistic fun...
