One of the better insights about John Archer Lejeune that I have read. Still, some of the opinions, a bit controversial. I am writing a short Novella on Lt Gen Lejeune and the book was helpful.General Lejeune was a complex person and his own book about himself shares little insight into his tenure as commandant and even less into his tenure at VMI. This book helps unravel much of the mystry Lejeune wove into his Reminiscences of a Marine.Major Ralph S. Bates USMC (Ret) www.shorerations.com

I have not yet finished this book but I like what I've read thus far. There's not much out there about General Lejuene but this book seems to hold a lot of good information about him. I received the book very quick and have been very happy with it so far.
