5.0 out of 5 stars Cute & useful!
This is great as an ice tray; you don't have to run water over the bottom, crack and twist the tray, and then get splintered ice, drips all over your kitchen, and too many or too few cubes. You don't have to turn it upside down; just push from the bottom and get exactly however many cubes--I mean, shells! you want, with no breakage or mess. The tray is a little soft...

3.0 out of 5 stars tough to remove cubes
it's a struggle to remove the cubes from this tray. since it's silicone and flexible, there's no torque when you twist the tray. i end up pushing behind each cavity to release the cube.

The tray is a little soft and flexible so you do have to find a flat place in the freezer for it, and when I stacked another tray on top I got a little bit of "stickage" and a few misshapen shells; not a big deal unless you wanted perfectly shaped decorative ice.

Tonight I also used them to make chocolates (by melting chocolate chips & peanut butter together), and am very pleased with the detailed design and how easy it is to remove the candies; you can stretch the silicone a little bit so you don't lose the detail of the shells, and the others are not disturbed . These would make lovely butter pats too! Each well holds exactly one tablespoon of liquid.

These trays work pretty well. They are a little hard to fill because they are so flexible, and they need to be placed on a flat surface in the freezer, which is sometimes tricky. What I like about the trays is that ice is easily removed individually, and they look very pretty in drinks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add some fun to making coconut oil chocolate bark, August 3, 2009

I thought I would spice up my low carbohydrate "candy making" with these molds (shells and hearts). They are adorable, easy to use, tough, and I can make a batch a couple of times a week and store easily in the freezer once removed. Do need to set out a little bit after removing from freezer before pushing them out from behind of tray.

Recipe for coconut oil chocolate bark:
1 cup liquid extra virgin coconut oil
1/4 cup raw cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon stevia powder or artificial sweetener to tast.

Can add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract if desired.

Pour in molds and put in freezer (coconut oil solidifies under 78 degrees). Remove from freezer, set out maybe 5 minutes, and then remove from tray by pushing from back. I then put candies in a freezer container and put back in freezer. Dispense as needed.

For low carb dieters, a perfectly legal and absolutely scrumptious little legal "candy."

Be careful with eating too much if you are unused to coconut oil or you might become very used to your bathroom.

I am using this mold for small soaps, they are delightful, just the perfect size for a sample or to give with other small shaped soaps as a gift. They come right out. No need to prepare the surface so they do not stick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting ice cubes, June 23, 2009

My ice maker stopped working and I decided to try ice cube trays until my husband can repair it. I tried silicone trays because the hard plastic ones crack and are the ice cubes are hard to get out. The silicone trays are cute and can be used for more than ice cubes. After my ice maker repair, I plan to use the silicone trays in my travel trailer.
