These are the cutest ice trays. I have this one (the star ice cubes)and the penguin ice cubes. You get a really nice cute ice cubes. The star ice tray gives you a nice symmetrical star ice cube. The penguin ice cubes are not quite complete because they are flat on one side. One nice thing about the penguin ice cubes is they are rounded and don't hurt your fingers when you remove them. It is a little time consuming peeling the ice cubes out of the rubber trays. You will have to want to have shaped ice cubes. I am not sure either, how dishwasher safe these are. I think the one advantage of the star ice cubes that pushed the ball over the goal line for me on this purchase, and made it worthwhile having star ice cubes was this. The surface area of the ice is high compared to the volume. They just cool the drinks faster. It is great for martinis or margaritas on the rocks. You can't beat the star ice shape for a good quality drink. You will need several trays, if you are planning even a modest party, the ice stars are not that big.

I bought these for use in our our coffeehouse. We make coffee ice cubes with them. They come out super cute, the mold is easy to use and durable, and our customers love them.

Easy to use. The shapes are small so they melt quickly. I only wish they were a little bigger so they don't lose their shape within minutes.

I used these for making star-shaped chocolates, they worked great!

However, although they say dishwasher safe, make sure they are on the upper rack. I accidentally washed it on the lower rack, and it was too close to the heating element and melted.

There was a Fred brand ice mold next to it which held up fine, since the Fred ones are more heat-resistant - you can put Fred ones in the oven - but not these!

I'd rate it higher if it hadn't melted in the dishwasher after the first time I used it.

I am normally not a very negative reviewer, as I find myself almost always giving 4 & 5 stars, but with this product, I just can't bring myself to do it.

Does it make ice in cute star shapes that is nothing if not original? Yes.
Does it remain intact and not crack or break after your first few batches of ice? Yes.'

All these things are good and thus deserving of at least a few stars, but . . .

Did I just give up with my last attempt at extraction of the ice 20 minutes ago because the effort to extract the ice is simply not worth it? YES!

In short, I will keep this as a novelty item, so when I entertain guests and decide it will be cute to serve drink with star shaped ice cubes--and am willing to expend the effort to extract them, I can have them available. But for day to day use, I have decided I am just not all that enthralled with this tray. I will use a normal, durable, hard ice cube tray, process ice cube quickly without much thought or effort, and move on with my life, devoid of any frustration during the production of ice. Because to me, this product simple isn't worth the effort it requires. I've got better things to do with my time.

These trays made the most adorable star ice cubes for a military event. I double boiled distilled water and then when cooled poured the water into the trays. The ice was perfectly clear and looked really fun floating in the guest cups. I loved these some much, I bought 8.

Easy to pop out of the tray because of the material it's made of allows you to bend around the stars once they're frozen and get 'em all out easily. They look like starfish in your drink when they start to melt. Very cute. :)

I got this star tray and the heart tray. I use both but getting the ice out of the star tray takes some wrist work. The heart tray works easily.

A really fun and cute item. Everyone enjoys the star ice cubes. Ice cubes remove easily.

I bought this one and the Penguin ice cube trays. The stars look awesome but are a real pain the a$$ to get out of the tray, the penguins come out much easier.
