I used this book with a third grade class to help with teaching bar graphs. The kids loved it, and the illustrations are great! The end of the book supplies the teacher with different activities to try.

I used this book to introduce bar graphs to my second grade class. The lemonade sells for 25 cents a cup so it also made an excellent lesson on money and place value. The children really enjoyed the illustrations.

I teach 3rd grade and will use this to review bar graphs at the beginning of next year. The students can usually relate to a lemonade stand. I actually purchased it to learn about starting up businesses for a writing prompt, but I can use it to enhance both skills.

My daughter, five, loves the book. She enjoyed the story and loved the beautiful illustrations which helped her to understand how bar graphs worked. I think it's a great book and worth buying.

I'm a visual mom.
My kids, especially one of my sons, are visual kids. Graphing is a powerful tool, and the illustrations in this story are a powerful teacher. Tricia Tusa does a great job with the math concept -- bar graphs -- and also gives the book such flair. The kids are cute to begin with, but when they put lemon-shaped hats on and act like kids, those illustrations turn the book into much more than a math reader. It's a cute, funny story, thanks to the illustrations. And, have you noticed? if the book is fun, the kids read it more. This book is FUN. Stuart J. Murphy wrote a great story of kids working together to solve a problem (need money to fix their clubhouse) and overcome an obstacle -- a competitor, almost -- along the way. It's a great story for getting along with other people. Great, great book. A keeper!

This book teaches math with kids who open a business selling lemonade and track their sales with bar graphs. Great for a math unit on graphs.

Wonderful book for graphs. Even though is supposed to be for younger children, my middle school students really liked it.

It's all here! I like these math/story books, and this is one of the best I've seen. It combines kids selling lemonade and the use of graphs and marketing into a creative and funny story, that has a pretty good sub-plot as well! We enjoyed trying to guess what would happen next. A great resource for kids who struggle with math concepts or don't enjoy reading.
