More About the Author

As a child, I didn't just have a lemonade stand - I had a candy and beverage business. From there I graduated to running a babysitting/summer day camp when I was 14 years old. From setting up the structure to recruiting customers to the daily operations, it was business at its best.

After graduating from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Social Science, I spent the majority of my adult work life in management and sales with small, privately held businesses. From Supervisor to Director of Operations, I have successfully grown teams of people in manufacturing and service companies. I've conducted employee orientations and trainings. Throughout my sales career, I've bested the quotas set by management. More importantly, I've developed invaluable relationships with customers and peers. I excel at networking and believe that relationship building is the key to sales success.

Coupled with my business acumen are strong intuitive skills and a genuine desire to help other people excel. That's probably why, throughout my life, people have sought me out, knowing I would listen carefully and offer them insight and guidance that made good sense and produced positive results.

As a certified, professional business and leadership development coach, I evaluate, educate, and encourage my clients; helping them build and grow successful, thriving, profitable businesses. Working with as few as one person to as many as 100+, I create an environment that is cooperative and interactive. I work with clients throughout the United States, helping them launch their business or overcome the obstacles they face.

I've taken my simple, no-nonsense approach to sales and business and have created programs, workshops, and speeches around it. Business may be work, but it doesn't have to be difficult.

My coaching style is centered on learning about the client's strengths, goals, values, and challenges. Together we develop and implement a plan that is designed to help them achieve success as they define it.

I believe that the key to real happiness and success is being true to your authentic self. When you know what you want and have identified your strengths, you can put the two together.

I write business and sales related articles for Small Business Trends and serve as a COSE Mindspring Expert. I volunteer with the COSE Arts Network Roundtable as well and am proud to be a member of the experts panel of Top Sales World.

I like simple! I believe we over-think just about everything in our lives and that is what often stops us from accomplishing things. Diane's book simplifies sales with an excellent example...the lemonade stand. She pinpoints exactly why children find success with their stands...because they do not yet have that voice in their head questioning all of the things that could possibly go wrong. All of their focus and energy is placed on the excitment and common sense with which they approach their business. THAT is what gets results. If you are searching for a book that will help you turn off that questioning voice, regain some excitement about your business, and start thriving once again...your search is over.

This is a Sales Gravy Press book - so it will deliver on what it promises. This is sales reduced to the simplest essence you could ever find. It has good examples, good explanations and is an easy quick useful read. If there any parts of the sales story that you do not understand, this is like the Coles Notes version (Coles got me through English 200 the first time) in that you get exactly what you need. If you are a one man show - you need this book

Lemonade Stand Selling by Diane Helbig takes the mystery out of the process. Helbig gives insightful, step-by-step directions on how to move from an idea to an action; a process that works every time. I have spent a lot of time over thinking the big picture in which I always find myself getting stuck. Helbig's book redirects my actions to a positve and prosperous outcome. A must read for anyone cultivating a business.

Diane really does get it. The book rocks. It's simple, and really easy to read. There are sales tips galore, mixed in with stories of different sales situations that you may experience as you are out and about, trying to sell your own product or service. I recommend this book for all who sell!

I'm buying a copy of Lemonade Stand Simple for a new friend and business owner who told me she "hates selling." Reading it should oh-so easily change her mind and set her on a path to success. Even the seasoned sales person will learn something by reading Diane's book. Her advice and examples that drive points home are clear, concise and simply motivational.

It doesn't matter what business you are in, if you can't sell, you can't succeed. 'Lemonade Stand Selling' is a common sense guide through the sales process; a guide that will help any small business owner master sales and realize success. From identifying what it is you sell to creating a marketing and prospecting plan to closing the sale and dealing with objections, Helbig covers the gamut. Helbig shares real world examples of each stage of the sales process so you can understand how her words apply to your business. This book is a must read for all small business owners - no matter what product or service you provide.

Even after being in sales for 20+ years, there were plenty of lessons that I learned and "little reminders" that I needed to reinstitute in my selling career. I appreciate Diane putting her vast knowledge into an easy and quick to read book. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one!
