4.0 out of 5 stars Rock 'n Roll!
I picked up "Lend you a hand" at an indie rock festival recently, where the snooty indie rock guy behind the counter sorta laughed when I asked about the Tight Bros and compared them to AC/DC as if being compared to such a band is BAD, especially in these days where noisy, whiny nonsense passes for the next big thing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Believe The Hype
A very dissapointing album, from a band compared to the Stooges, AC/DC, and the MC5. People please! Lead singer sounds like your typical high school emo kid wanting to be a rock star with lyrics that are tough to listen to much less sing along with. All in all, not a bad album and maybe even an album to put on while playing cards with the guys. Do yourself a favor though,...

The sound is reminiscent of AC/DC gone punk, I would say MC5 but I don't think the Tight Bros' sound is nearly sharp or focused enough to merit such an assessment. There's some great rock tunes on here (I especially like Bless Me, with the old-school breakdown and gradual crescendo that reminds me of "Shout"), and they definitely do justice to Joe Tex on the cover of "Show Me." The vocals are a little much at times, but the energy and sound presented here make up for most imperfections. ROCK!

4.0 out of 5 stars it's a long way to the top, March 7, 2002

Bon Scott would be very happy to see his legacy handed over to this bunchy 'rreeeeowrrr' rockers, Tight bro's from way back when'. Mix mc5, acdc with some speed and you got the right ticket to super rock! Add a cover song by the Animals and you've got yourself one helluva record. I love it, from the cute drawings urging you to clap your hands to the amateur harmonica's...great. They even give props to Dale Crover

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, November 24, 2003
This review is from: Lend You a Hand (Audio CD)
I don't understand where some of the reviews below are coming from. These guys are aren't meant to sound tight or precise. They are a total Rock n' Roll free for all. This CD has so much energy to it that it almost melts your speakers. And don't believe the hype"? These guys should get MORE hype. They are under-rated if anything. If you like ACDC or Rose Tattoo mixed with a little Punk, you will love this CD. Both Tight Bros CD's rock harder than anything out that there that is part of the new rock n' roll trend.

5.0 out of 5 stars having a rave-up with the tight bros!, September 27, 2001

whoo! if you're in the mood to move, you must check out those tight bros from way back when. this rock is in an inspired vein, via the MC5 and all their bros and sisters. if you want to clap your hands, shake your maracas, and hit your cowbell, this is the place! not only do they bring their thunder with a slew of original testimonials, but a JOE TEX cover AND an ANIMALS cover are included for your pleasure. not to be missed when they blow through your town as well...

And if you don't believe it then you're probably right but these guys make a good argument for it. Tight Bro's are one of the original true Rock-Revival bands. Before Jet wiped their arse on Mtv and Darkness stuffed their spandex Tight Bro's From Way Back When were rockin the shiite out of the earth and Lend You A Hand is a great example of their sheer ability to do so. If you need to be Rocked then try this and get back to me when you've regained control. Seriously one of the greatest indie rock bands ever. Check out Runnin' Thru My Bones for an all out assault on your senses. You won't be normal ever again.

5.0 out of 5 stars See them live before you diss them., March 22, 2005
This review is from: Lend You a Hand (Audio CD)
I got the privillage of seeing these guys live in Seattle while they opened up for Jon Spensers. They had so much energy on stage they had the audiance singing along. The lead singer sounded like Jake from the Blues brothers, while the set was like ACDC. I looked to find a record at the show but all I could find is a Vynal single. Trust me on this one these guys rock harder than anyone in your CD spin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wooooo hooooooo!!!!!, December 20, 2006

Do you like big, dumb rock 'n' roll like AC/DC, Kiss, or Motley Crue? Would you like to see that kind of music played with the speed and intensity of a punk band? If you answered yes to both questions (I did!), you will LOVE the Tight Bro's From Way Back When.

Like everyone who reviewed them, I too will tell you that they sound like AC/DC, because they play blues rock type riffs and Jared Warren sounds like Bon Scott on crack.

Some people might complain that the songs all sound the same, and they sorta do. But the differences DO become apparent after the first listen. But really, whats wrong with having your songs initially sounding the same? I could say that of the Ramones, Motorhead, and AC/DC, and all those bands are rock 'n' roll LEGENDS!!!

More people need to make music like the Tight Bro's do, its distilled, condensed rock 'n' roll, and its a very good thing. Its too bad they only made two albums.

This rocks pretty hard. The songs seem to all kind of sound the same, but no one else is doing quite what tight bro's are doing, and no one has their energy.

Like AC\DC and MC5 if they were crackheads. That is not a bad thing.
