Frightening Truth we know little about, August 28, 2009
This review is from: Dans L'enfer Des Tournantes (French Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Samira was a young girl, living in two worlds. The world of second generation Islamic tradion: her parents, family, and comparatively the "western " world of friends, dressing in Western clothes and public schooling in France. The dichotomy of her life is interspersed through each of these events and compounded by the actions of her father. She was often verbally abused, her mother was not able to reach her, and Samira decided to handle life on her own, living in the Parisian Banlieus.
Excellent auto-biography, Samira uses language that makes the reader feel her pain, her contempt, her anger, and her desires. She succeeds in proving her talents, and more importantly, finds a bit of closure. Sadly, Samira does not live long after recounting her tales. If you read her book, she will always be with you, and you are then, the effectual voice for enlightening others.
