1.0 out of 5 stars Warning - This Lenmar battery can be HARD to remove!, April 24, 2005
This review is from: Lenmar DLP002 Digital Camera Equivalent to the Panasonic CGA-S002A, CGA-S002A/1B Batteries (Electronics)
Bought two of the Lenmar equivalents to Panasonics CGS-S002A. After a few charge/discharge cycles BOTH batteries would jam in the camera ... very difficult to remove. Both batteries developed a noticeable bulge in their case that made them dam* near impossible to get out of the camera. Lenmar did replace them with two new batteries ... which promptly developed the same problem. Will now try to get my money back from Lenmar ... tired of the hassle.

1.) Two Equivalent to Panasonic CGA-S002 Camcorder/Digital Camera batteries (same ones i'm doing the review for.) I'll go to a concert, take a hundred pics and only go through one battery. Panasonics offical battery costs around 40 something plus shipping and handling if you order it online. I paid 50 altogether for 2 batteries that last just as long as the Panasonic (actually a bit longer then one they sent me with the camera.)

Can't beat that value.

Here's what i also recommend:
a Permaraal 72mm to 62 mm adapter ($40 bucks) and a 62mm filter UV filter of your choice ($15- 30)(mainly to protect the lens, i keep it on all the time.) 62mm filters don't affect the picture or lighting quality, and they're cheaper. Plus you need at least a inch and a half long adapter so the lens has room to move. The 72mm one they send with the camera is TOO long.

Also, get a micro fiber cloth. I seriously recommend MicroTear. Awesome brand.

For a case, go with Tamrac, i got a Tamrac 5314 Travel Zoom 4 Camera Holster bag. Fits perfectly even keeping the 62mm adapter on. And when i want it off, i keep it at the bottom of the bag, no big deal. I got mine from bhphotos for 17
[...]

I suggest getting your camera from butterfly photo, i got my FZ20S for 388 for a grand total of 397.80, no tax. If you get it from Best buy or Circuit city expect to end up paying around 550. From amazon; 500.

Look into getting a tripod as well, i can't stress how important they can be. If your not serious about getting into photography i don't recommend the FZ20. Get a cheap Cannon dig ;). Or go with the compac series of Panasonic's Lumix brand. Yah the ones with the crappy lenes.

Hope this review helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am using this with the excellent Lumix FZ5, June 28, 2005

I have had no problems with this battery, it does seem to be a tad thicker, but I have had no problems removing from my camera. As it is much cheaper than the Panasonic battery I have to give it 5 stars, for doing the same job at close to half the price.

It works in the camera. This is the second Lenmar battery I have used.
They do not seem to last as long as Panasonic but a good value.

I see no difference at all between my original Panasonic battery and the one from Lenmar. Excellent price/value ratio!

This battery does exactly what I need it to (power my Panasonic DMC-FZ1 camera) with a modification. The Lenmar battery is slighter shorter than the Panasonic battery and therefore does not make a consistent connection to power the camera. I had to improvise by slipping a small piece of cardstock paper under the clip that holds the battery in to hold it tight to the connections. Otherwise the camera would not turn on or, worse, shut off in the middle of using it. The slip of paper does the job but then taking the battery out, charging it, and putting it back in isn't as quick or easy of a job as it was with the original battery, now that I have to keep track of the slip of paper and reseat the battery carefully with the slip of paper in place. If I knew what I know now, I think I would have bought another Panasonic battery to keep from dealing with this... it is too important to have a camera that works when you need it to when you have a 2-yr-old!

Unlike another no name gereric batttery this one fit in my pansonic digital still camera perfectlly and works well. Can't comment on battery life compared to the pansonic brand yet.

I was expecting to get the Lenmar brand shown on the website but instead received the Accesory Power brand, However, I have been satisfied with the battery. It is rated at 800mah vs the 680mah of the Panaonic battery. It fits my FZ5 and charger as well as the OEM battery and it seems to last longer.
