4.0 out of 5 stars Camera Saver, January 6, 2006
This review is from: Lenmar KITCRV3 Charger for CRV3 Battery (Electronics)
I bought a Samsung camera way back when, and I found it to be highly unreliable. It wouldn't always turn on, and the batteries would die out quickly. I've tried alkaline and NiMH AA battereies (at 2500 mAh, highest I could find), and the results were the same. Then I read somewhere that most digital cameras required consistent voltage to function properly, which only Li-ion batteries could do. You can spend about 10 bucks for a disposable Li-ion battery, or spend 15 dollars more for the Lenmar model which you can use over and over again. The only other brands that I found that manufactured rechargable Li-ion CRV-3's were Samsung and Digipower. They both go for around 45 dollars, and the Digipower model has a lower mAh (1100) compared to the Lenmar.

It's been a week already, and my camera is still going strong on the same charge. Before, it wouldn't even last more than 30 minutes before pooping out on me.

I haven't had any problems using or charging the battery like the other reviewer. I'm sure he just got a defective charger with his order. Anyways, my only complaint is the lack of documentation with the packaging. Not that you really need it to operate the charger. Otherwise, it's a no-brainer purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, August 31, 2006

We've used Lenmar rechargeables in other digicams with great results, so it was a no-brainer to pick up this CRV3 compatible battery for a new Olympus camera. The 1350 mAh battery comes with the charging base and two electric adapters (wall outlet and car's cigarette lighter which is not shown in the picture).

A nice plus by choosing this lithium battery is that is weighs less than a pair of NiMh AA batteries yet it runs cooler so the camera doesn't get too warm. The battery charges in a few hours and lasts quite a while between charges. We were able to shoot several hundred shots over multiple sessions without fully draining the battery.

The only quibble we have with this charger is related to directions found in the one page instruction sheet:

"Once the battery is fully charged, promptly remove the battery from the charger. Note: Do not leave the battery in the charger for prolonged periods after the battery is fully recharged."

This battery can't be left charging overnight; it must be monitored and manually removed when the cycle is complete. Why couldn't Lenmar put auto-shutoff circuitry in the charger when the light turns green just like in their other chargers?

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lenmar KITCRV3 Charger for CRV3 Battery (Electronics)
I was very disappointed when the AA batteries my digital camera came with died within a couple days. I've been using this for a year and a half now, and since I switched, I've never gotten so much as a low battery warning, even when I've taken a couple hundred pics between charges.
