This review pertains to the Lenmar powerport kit but I believe that the standalone version is the same device without the accessories. Device is smaller, lighter, and thinner than the iPhone 3G. It is very portable. My initial charge of the Powerport took about 4 hours from the supplied AC charger. I let my 3G iPhone get down to 20% and then plugged it into the Lenmar Powerport using the iPhone synch cable. In about 50 minutes my phone was back to 100%. I also tested the wind-up cable supplied with the device (if you get the kit) and it appears to work just as well as the stock Apple cable. Both the AC and auto adapter appear to work as direct chargers which is good because my Monster ipod auto charger will not work with the new iPhone 3G. Other reviewers of this product said that they were able to charge the 1st gen iPhone at least twice. The next time my device gets down to 20% I'll throw it back on the Powerport and see if has enough juice left for another charge. Even if I can only get one recharge I think that it's a great deal!

This little battery has worked great with everything I tried it with including providing the power to my external hard drive to not drain my laptops battery. You can even pass through the device, charging phone and battery at the same time (provided you have a mini-usb cable lying around)

This is one of the best devices I've ever owned. It has a small form factor that will easily slip into a pocket or bag, and a MUCH higher capacity that most similar devices I've seen. It's great for trips when you're afraid your phone might die and you won't have an outlet handy to recharge. I took it on a trip and used it to recharge my phone while walking around the city, and it quickly gave me a full charge. This is a must have for traveling smartphone owners.

This device, contrary to the packaging, does NOT work with many Blackberry communicators. Many Blackberry phones will not just blindly take power from a USB chain, but require a logical signal before they will charge. The Lenmar device does NOT do this, so you will plug your phone in and it just won't work.

Highly recommended. This is my third one. The power pack is thin, light, very portable and easy to use. I use it daily even when not traveling. I've used it with iPod and a variety of cell phones. It arrived promtly and was put into service immediately. You could even charge the battery while it charges the cell phone simultaneously, provided you have two mini-USB cables. It's very slim, easily fits into any pocket. The retractable USB/mini-USB cable is nice, but the retractor is cheaply made and breaks easily; besides, it is not a full-blown USB cable, can't do data transfer, is only good for charging. Would have given it a 5 stars except for the fact that it did not arrive with all the tips as shown. Thankfully, the ones I need are included.

The wire that comes with it brakes easily. All of the little attachment will break if you don't handle with care.

This product did not perform for what I specifically bought it to do. I tried to use it with my i-Touch, but it just shuts itself off after about 2 minutes without charging. I have the same problem charging anything with it. It seems to just shut itself off, and sometimes charges, and sometimes does not. I would not recommend this product for any use at all.

I have bought two of these. The first lasted long enough to charge my iphone 3g twice before breaking (power button which is spring loaded broke). The second lasted long enough to charge my phone once before breaking and becoming unresponsive. I loved the look of the power pack; however, it seems to break too easily. I would recommend buying a pack that lasts.

Excellent product! I've read all over the internet (including here on Amazon) that it's not compatable with the Apple iTouch, but I have a 2nd generation Touch with the latest 3.0 software, and it works great with mine. And yes, I'm certain I'm reviewing the right product here. I have model# PPU2100B not the mini powerport. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I've only used the docking/USB cable that came with my iTouch, not the cable/adapter that came with my charger. Maybe this will help others who would like to use this product to extend the battery life of their Touch...

Light weight; smaller than I had expected. Charges quickly. Sketchy documentation but it sort of explains itself once you plug it in.

Comes charged. Blue light changes to red when recharging and goes back to blue once charged. Works with the original iPhone and 3G.
