why would any filmaker ruin great music????? this is the worst case deal....great music and lousy editing putting in sound bites over the top of the live performance..........

don't waste your time with this one or your money...lenny is great but the film maker [is bad]

Truth in advertising? None to be found here - the title "Live" implies that this is a concert film to showcase the incredible music of Lenny. However, what you get is small snippets of live music between a ton of chatter and interviews (which are interesting, but should be part of the special features). I can only believe the track listing on the back of the DVD case is so that you can figure where you are in amongst all the talking. This is a DVD so be watched once and then taken down to your local used store to trade for something else.

I agree that this dvd will be a dusty one. It is not a complete show as there are only "2" complete songs on it and is missing several key songs.[can't get you off of my mind/mama said/it ain't over til' its over].
Totally annoying, interrupting songs with interviews in all the songs.That "[JUNK]" should have been put on a special segment of the dvd separate from the show.
Do not expect the best from this one. Hopefully!!!>Lenny will get another DVD out there that is a complete show with the hits on it, all of them, UNINTERRUPTED!

I had been looking at this DVD for ages until it finally came up in a clearance sale. I cannot believe how disappointed I am! Like others have stated, it is NOT a concert. It is more a documentary with snippets of songs than a concert with extras. What a ripoff. Don't waste money on this if what you really want is a concert.

I love this dvd, but it is like documentary with live music from his concerts. Lenny fans will think its great.

I bought this DVD thinking it would be a follow up to "Live From Planet Earth" VHS that came out in the early/mid 90's. This DVD is far from it. I am a huge Kravitz fan for the most part. He has put out some disappointing music after the Kravitz 5 album, but still manages to have a few gems here and there. I was surprised in two aspects. The first being the constant interruptions during the songs. Most DVD's of this nature have an interview only, or concert only selection.The second,and I hate to say this, the man builds himself up as a musician that grew up on the streets. He tries hard to have roots and a background that I believe never existed. They interview these people in run down parts of the city that say" I remember Lenny playing guitar in that apartment etc", but the truth is, he came from a pretty good,well to do " not so poor" family. His mother was a TV star, and his father a producer who put up the money to make his first album Let Love Rule. He is one HELL OF A TALENT, and I love a lot of his music, I just think he thinks,he has to come up with some background story to tell the almost stereotype rock star tale which he does in this DVD.Nothing "Live" about this disc. Even the background vocals seemed to pre-recorded during a few live songs such as Beyond The Seventh Sky. If ya get it for a buck, worth watching to see what all the bad reviews are about. Other than that,don't buy it!

Please ignore ALL of the negative comments. Yes...I will agree that you will see some "live" performances and some behind-the-scenes footage. For me, that's what makes it so GREAT! I'm a huge fan of LK and I absolutely loved seeing a side of his personality that was separate from his stage persona. This is a GREAT DVD for true LK fans to have. You won't be disappointed; however, if you expect to see continuous concert footage then maybe this DVD is not for you.

This DVD is more of a on-the-road documentary and a behind-the-scenes look at his life. It'll show the concert and then cut to him talking about the song during a musical break in the song. If you go to the "Special Features" section on the DVD, you can watch/listen to many of the songs in the concert uncut. I think it's a cool concept for a concert DVD. If you're a fan of Lenny Kravitz, then this DVD will make a good addition to your concert DVD collection.

But I can understand customers frustrations over feeling mislead. But if you realize this isn't a concert video, but more of a documentary movie, and are ready for that, you may actually enjoy it. I purchased this and a Mudvayne dvd from the Tower Records abandon ship sale, and as a big Kravitz fan, I enjoyed it. It was interesting to see Kravitz's charisma and on camera confidence and personality. I enjoyed learning more about the other band members, how Lenny interacts with fans and handles himself on an everyday basis, and how he deals with the stresses of the road. The documentary itself was very well done and professional (this becomes very obvious when watching it back to back with the train wreck Mudvayne dvd!)I also really enjoyed the ending with just Lenny and an acoustic guitar sitting on a stool singing a powerfully heartfelt "Just can't get you off my mind".
