4.0 out of 5 stars Dark and Demented.... How lovely!, September 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lenore: Noogies Color Edition (Hardcover) (Lenore: Cute Little Dead Girl) (Hardcover)
This is a cute book in a demented way. It's made up of comic issues 1-4 about Lenore (who happens to be little dead girl). There are also comics on other varies creatures like Soilent Green, the boy with his heart in a box, Mr. Puffy and others. Lenore doesn't seem to be the brightest dead girl out there and tends to do some sick and twisted things. Quite disturbing sometimes and on the other times it can be quite funny. This is not a book for everyone. If you do not like to read things that are dark or demented then I wouldn't recommend this series. If you can take it with a grain of salt and enjoy it for what it is then I would say to go for it! As for the color edition... I would highly recommend this one if you are a collector. If not go for the paperback version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lenore Noogies collection 1, July 12, 2011

This review is from: Lenore: Noogies Color Edition (Hardcover) (Lenore: Cute Little Dead Girl) (Hardcover)
Noogies is a great full color version of the first four Lenore issues. There are roughly about 120 pages in this book. The pages are glossy, in color and all wraped up in a hardback book. I'm not a huge comic fan, but this little dead girl with her gory humor and all the creepy characters has me craving more. I also enjoyed all the other dark comics mixed in this book. I want the next collection of Lenore: Wedgies (Color Edition) (Lenore: Cute Little Dead Girl) like now!

I first was introduced to "Lenore" by a friend. He saw I has a copy of Tim Burtons' Book "Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy" and told me I should read "Lenore" by Roman Dirge. Well I did find a few of the comics and thought they were great. I saw they had released this deluxe hardcover set of 3 books collecting all the issues, printed on better paper and in color. I bought all 3 of them and enjoy reading them. They sit on the shelf next to 'Oyster Boy' now.
This book is called NOOGIES and it collects issues #1-4 of the comic. Its just morbid humor about a dead girl and her 'adventures' Roman Dirge also adds some real cool other characters to make the stories even more odd. Its great for those who like a little off beat humor. The comics are witty and the drawings are fun. These make great gifts as well to the right person.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roman Dirge is God !! :D, April 30, 2011

This review is from: Lenore: Noogies Color Edition (Hardcover) (Lenore: Cute Little Dead Girl) (Hardcover)
I heard of this Roman Dirge's black humour comics in a Gavin Baddeley's book about Goth culture...it seems really funny and interesting so i said to myself "what the hell let's buy them all", so i buy the 3 first hardcover Lenore books coloured edition: Noogies, Wedgies and Cooties (along all the Jhonen Vasquez i can find on amazon ^^) and i can tell you, i've never regret it.
This is soooo funny, cute and original...and the self mockery of Roman Dirge is really refreshing.
This is the funniest comic i have ever read, so i'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that he never made it to France :s

It's a shame you can't buy the Lenore videos here though, they are just 26 of them and they are pretty short. But man, they kick ass ^^ The character's voice are wonderful (i love the voice of Raggamuffin...and in the Russiand dubbed version Lenore's voice is even more cute ^^), the music is great and they add some little things that were'nt in the books :)

a bit more grusome but has nice pictures. More like a bunch of short stories (usually a page or a few pages long) of either lenore or poems or even of classic stories with lenore (and her twists) added. I bought all three of season one and both of season two and love them!

I bought this as a present for my sister, and she loved it. It is about a demented little dead girl and her adventures...if you like that sort of thing, then this is probably a good buy for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought Nemi was twisted!, November 9, 2009
This review is from: Lenore: Noogies Color Edition (Hardcover) (Lenore: Cute Little Dead Girl) (Hardcover)
Ahh, the world of humorous morbidity. Let's take a tour and see where we land.

Bram Stoker. Tim Burton. Freddy. Frankenstein. Zombies. Nemi. The undead. Lenore???

Whoa, where did this come from? Crack the book...(shock value)...suspense...cackly laugh comes from the walls. (where is the Shadow?)...time passes...one hour...two hour...

Oh my, Lenore is a blast! One step away from prison. Why?

Exhibit One: Scientific facts. Bouncy ball on busy street. Slip, bleed and slide. Ha!

Exhibit Two: The Birds...by Lenore (not Hitchcock). Never let Lenore babysit.

Exhibit three: Little Bunny Foo Foo...be specific, please.

Exhibit four; Hamsters....

Yep, this is a book that Al Fedstein, Don Martin, Harvey Kurtzman, and Sergio Aragones would love. It is graphic, and almost seems like a kids book until you open it and see the first 'accidental death'.

I laughed, and look forward to the next edition. You will too. Never hire Lenore to do ANYTHING for you.
