This is an OK product if you can get it in the "value pc" price range of $400ish.

It has a cheapier more plasticy less stiff feel than the IBM legacy. Everything is OK on it for value price point - but it's usually not at a value price point.

Negatives:
Most annoying - after about a year - the internal fan is very rumbly noisy and that's not an easy thing to fix. This will be the "pea" for me in the Princess and the Pea story. The fan at least doesn't run all the time with light e-mail/browsing work. Much more cpu use and it'd be on a lot.

Plasticy feel makes you wonder about long term durability

Lots of crap-ware. Most vendors put some trial bundles on - as they get revenue when people buy the full version - but Lenovo is the worst. Fortunately, Lenovo used to be really horrible in this regard - to the point of wanting to scrape/reload a machine - but in this case I was able to uninstall most of the junk. (a tip - the restore partition often has less of this crap ware pre-installed).

So it's an OK product if purchased at a value price point. Just remember that cheap fan.
