Imagine a PC with a beautiful, rich 27" display.
I am having a little trouble with the Windows 8 that I upgraded to an 8.1.
As far as overall performance, it is as good as I was expecting.

I love this thing. So much I thought I'd tell others about it. So here goes.

1. Wow Factor, great for presentations.
2. The main reason I bought this was to use for my Canon 7D Dslr as a monitor. A few years back HD monitors that were 7" were selling for as much as this computer. With a battery powered 27" display I can find AND FOLLOW a sharp focus when using a small depth of field for sit down interviews, etc. This is the only thing out there with an HDMI input.
3. It comes with an Android (phone/tablet) emulator.
4. It is not that much heavier than my OLD 17" laptop from 2004 and with the Lenovo Horizon, even though it says not too, you can serve tea on it.
5. Music touch controller to launch samples and 10 point multitouch for moving multiple faders simultaneously - say no more.
6. It brings people together.

1. You might spill tea on it.
2. You feel bad when people gather around and it takes so long to boot an app.
3. The name should be the "Horizon" not "IdeaCentre All In One Horizon 27 Table PC (Touch) - 57315590 - Silver"
4. You should not buy this for the games that come on it, they are a bit silly, though Im sure they will get better.
5. Monopoly still kinda sucks even on a computer, but when you flip this across the room you will have wished you bought the drop insurance.
6. My favorite feature of HDMI in, replaced the HDMI out. Yea, no HDMI out, even if the guy at Lenovo says it has it. Grrrr. Don't believe the florist when he tells you that the flowers are free. It does not seem to be a two way hdmi port. I just bought a usb 3.0 to hdmi external cable/card for $80 bucks to get around this issue.

okay, okay. More Good.

I'll first admit that I have a soft spot for groundbreaking PC designs, and the Lenovo Ideacentre is certainly one of them. Imagine a PC with a beautiful, rich 27" display. Then, imagine it's a full touchscreen. Add a pretty modern, zippy i7 processor. Add some pretty substantial stereo built-in speakers. Make it optionally operate as an HDMI-input device for your game system or movie player. Throw in some nifty gaming gadgets (e-dice, strikers, paddles & some matching specialized software). --Cool? Well, how about a 2-hour built-in battery so that you can power this massive beast stand-alone?

This device takes thinking-outside-of-the-box and thinks-outside-of-the-dimension.

There are downsides: If you want to effectively use if outside of on a countertop, you really need to also consider getting Lenovo's pricey but highly functional & streamlined matching stand. (Although, it's favorite spot is propped up on a nice table or kitchen counter.) If you want to connect a lot of USB devices, there are only 2 closely-situated ports on the side. If you like the auto-eject built-in table-stand, I wouldn't blame you; but I would also not blame you if you are sometimes slightly annoyed at not being able to 'lock' it in retracted position.

But the upsides clearly overcome the downsides. Outside of the features listed at the top, let's face it: Windows 8 was born for touch, and the Metro interface makes little sense without a touchscreen.

Pro: cool and pretty in appearance. Ability to play games in a table-top format (which was too neat to pass up, so I purchased it).

Con: after playing a few games, it was apparent that the computer is under-powered. A fact reinforced by some cursory research online: All In One computers are inherently "weak" due to requirement to minimize weight, size, and price. There is noticeable lag time when playing motion-oriented games such as air hockey. In fact, mine 'froze' on two occasions, requiring hard re-boot of the computer.
The AURA game interface also seemed quirky, and not too smooth.

After 4 days, I realized i had bought this pretty 27" computer for the cool table-top games which now, apparently, could never fully function. I returned it to Best Buy and purchased a different brand/model which was more powerful and less expensive -- and without the table-top game function. My new computer is another All In One, but with a slightly better processor and no claim of table-top functioning -- in short, it does what it says it can do.

The kickstand has no way to lock it into a closed position for use flat on the tabletop. When it springs open you really have to be careful but it springs fast and hard. I don't know if this has been corrected on other models of this mega tablet but its a massive pain point for this device. Other than that I love it as much as my all in one desktop. I am pretty much a Lenovo fan now. The game functions and special devices - eDice, joysticks, and sliders are pretty cool and make the tabletop games a hoot. I would recommend that you check to see if they corrected the kickstand issue on a later model and go with that if they have. Otherwise just be prepared for that annoyance.
