I like this very thin, fast ultrabook because I'm used to using a tablet.

Purchased the Yoga Pro 2 and it would not connect to my home's Uverse 2wire wifi. We have other electronics using the wifi (computers, TV's, tablets) that work fine so it's not that my wifi system is not working. Read some reviews in forums that updating Windows 8 solved the wifi problems that some people were having but it didn't work for me. Then spoke with Lenovo's hardware tech support people and tried different things to get it to work. After 3 hours and after reducing my 2wire wifi's security port settings the best we got was the the computer wifi worked when it was 2 feet from my router, any farther away the signal dropped. The rep said I needed to return the computer or mail it to Texas for servicing. I'm returning the computer and will be waiting for Lenovo to fix the wifi issue in their next production run before I buy this computer. Also another issue is the screen color yellow looks off. For me this would be a 5 star rating once they fix those issues for the computers excellent design and how the computer can be changed into a tablet. The weight is only a little over 3 lbs. so its not as light as an iPad but it's not too heavy for my 10 year old daughter to work with it as a tablet/computer on the couch. We use this mostly to access internet, video media for school and to do basic word processing and excel.

Just picked up the replacement Yoga Pro 2 I returned. The original broken one had a manufacture date of 9/30/13 and the new one was manufactured 10/28/13. This one is working great and picking up the Wifi signal right out of the box. The yellow color is still off a little but not a big deal for me and I'm confident they'll have a fix for that in the future if there's not already. Once they do that 5 stars from me.

By now, word of the Y2P's yellow color issues are exposed. There is a "fix" that is not really a fix but an adjustment that alters your entire color scheme and drains your battery. Many people (maybe half?) are also reporting the "fix" does not fix the problem and even causes more problems in other areas like wifi connectivity. It's sad that this defective product is still being sold with no warning given. Most people will not be aware of this products issues until past the return period with no fix available.

While it is only two days since opened up the box, this is the best laptop. I have been using Thinkpad for work and MacBook pro for personal use, and now decided to sell MacBook Pro. From price perspective, it is honestly expensive but not too much when compare with other products like Surface Pro and new MacBook, and it is definitely compelling that beautiful high density display show everything beautiful, and great heat management always keeps the PC quiet and cool.

The touch-screen combined with the flipping screen is really, really fantastic. It's super convenient in so many different ways... doing work on the couch; propped up in tent mode as a music player with friends over; reading/web-browsing in bed. Way more useful than a typical tablet and much more convenient than a traditional laptop. While I seem to be a dwindling breed, I still feel most comfortable using the traditional Windows format with apps pinned to the start screen and the like. That was really the selling point for me (you can easily toggle b/t desktop mode and the Windows Phone "tiles" mode).

There are a few downsides, though. Hopefully these can be fixed in future versions. I really think this is THE future form-factor for computing at work and home.

1. The screen is stunning. Super high-resolution. Incredible for watching video and viewing pictures. But with my smartphone (a big old Galaxy Note 2) I'm used to everything being in scale. Not so with this machine. The up/down scrolls are super tiny on web browsers. I tried doing an online fantasy baseball draft, the text was absolutely tiny and I couldn't figure out an easy way to make it bigger. Made it super difficult to manipulate the browser-based draft system. Lots of similar examples.

2. Touchscreen. The touchscreen itself is fine but combined with the super tiny drop boxes, up/down browser scrolls and similar items I mentioned above, it's hard to effectively use the touchscreen for a lot of applications including Office apps like Word, Outlook and Excel.

3. Google Maps (Bing Maps or whatever it's called for that matter) is pretty much useless.

I believe this device has been around long enough that one can find rave reviews on it in any number of places so What I wanted to do is 'reprint' here what I've done in order to turn this machine into a [somewhat] true Desktop/Laptop/Tablet all-in-one.

I'd like to start off with a side comment; I have had virtually NO issues with wireless connectivity. I have a DLINK 'N' router on my second floor and remain connected at all times when on 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor of my house. I realize some have had issues but I have not and absolutely love this machine! the screen is remarkable, performance is great (I view Netflix, rip my CDs to MP3's and capture and rip all my old VHS home movies on it with no performance issues (I have the Intel i5, 4gb, upgraded with Crucial's mSata 480gb SSD).

Now on to the fun part. In attempting to attach a high res monitor on the Yoga 2 Pro I tried every possible combo of cables hoping one would natively recognize my Dell U2713HM's 2560X1440 resolution using the built-in HDMI micro port. Last shot was a micro HDMI to DVI cable but alas, all the forum discussion groups were correct. Despite having a native laptop screen resolution of 3200X1800 I could not achieve anything better than 1080p (1920x1080) on an external monitor, even when the external display was used with the laptop closed. So I started the search and looked at several devices on Amazon. I was disappointed that a single one wouldn't provide all that I desired; I was after a wired Ethernet connection, additional USB 3.0 ports and a full resolution (2560X1440) monitor. None did it all including the 'Plugable' USB 3.0 dock (limited to 2048x1152). So I purchased the Ableconn and I couldn't be happier.
