    Customer Reviews

The 8" screen is the perfect size, large enough but not too bulky to handle.

Just to clear the air on some of the note's another reviewer felt the need to leave on this tablet. first! far as reviews go, this tablet just released as of April of this year in the US and as for the number of reviews, a very small percentage of people that purchase a item, ever even leave a review. and second, the youtube audio and video synce problem's are nothing new, and youtube continue's to have such issue's with there software, but can be effected this way by many other factor's, like the browser used, video format ,internet bandwidth and some time's hardware and OS conflict's, but very unlikely, now with that said, let's move on. I'm not a new comer to the PC, notebook or tablet world, have been using such device's for over twenty years. As far as the Lenovo ideatab go's I have had some time now to put it through some test, like HD 1080p video playback, this included Youtube and Netflix, which viewed very well with no such issue's stated above and considering it only has a 189 ppi display, but keep in mind folk's,I do have a high speed internet service. The screen interface or UI is very simple to use and I was able to update the OS to Android 4.4.2. As for over all performance, and build quality, it didn't disappoint me at all, has a nice weight and feel to it and is much easier to type and interact with than my older samsung galaxy 2 10.1, but as for sound, not to bad, but two speakers would of been a nice feature point, but not a deal breaker. At this time, I'm very pleased with my choice ,I was looking for a lower priced 8 inch display tablet, and after some research of my own and some comparison's of other similar tablet's, I choose this one, a very nice, well rounded budget 8 inch tablet. Yes there are other 8 inch tablets, with higher specs out there and if you have money to burn, I'd tell you go for it, but I always consider my need's, my budget and what is practicable at the time. Hope this review is some what helpful :)

I've tried many 8" Android tablets including Dell, Samsung and Asus. They were all returned to Amazon due to stability or incompatibility issues that I just can't / won't tolerate. My job requires some sort of tablet that is flexible, stable and dependable. I have an iPad Air that works great but is a bit too big. I'm very satisfied with everything about this tablet. I use it daily and have never had any issues whatsoever, neither before the Kit Kat update nor after. If your looking for a stable, dependable and affordable Android tablet, this is it. I was about to give up on Android OS because of past experience with other devices but FINALLY I found one that actually works. Way to go Lenovo, you guys rock. The screen looks awesome, all the apps I use work perfectly and I don't even need to take the charger to work because the battery saving features Lenovo incorporated in this device are flawless. All day battery life with moderate to heavy usage and plenty left when I get home. Considering my past Android experiences I thought I would just get another buggy, unstable an unreliable device but I have to admit, I AM IMPRESSED.

I'd been looking at the Asus Memo Pad 8, planning to buy, then saw this one. Asus and Lenovo are both are solid names with good reputations, I've owned and loved laptops made by both. The price is practically the same. I'm not normally an "early adopter," but the dual front speakers and a color other than white are what sold me on this one. I ordered it today, should be here Tuesday, so more to follow.

    Update:

The build feels solid, and finish feels good and "grippy."

Display is bright, and looks good from the side. I'm generally using it at 60% brightness in normal room light. I like the 8" form factor, my eyes aren't young any more. :)

The sound is OK, the SINGLE speaker faces front and is about what you'd expect.

Battery life: It drops about 2% per hour when in "standby." Watching videos will use about 14% per hour with the display at 60% brightness.

There's not a lot of bloatware. Of the 16GB of storage, about 11.8GB is available to use. (And a 32GB Micro SD is under $20 now.)

The OTG port works as expected. No problem reading a thumb drive, or seeing my smart phone as external storage. It even charged the phone while connected.

The cameras are mediocre, but don't expect much from a tablet. My phone is much better as a camera, easier to use and always with me.

Performance seems fine, I haven't noticed any lag or hesitation.

Value: It's the best price of the "major" brand 8" tablets. To me, it feels more solid than the Dell Venue, and the display looks better than the Asus Memo Pad. If you're looking for an 8" tablet under $200, I'd recommend it highly.

I needed a tablet that would support the work apps I use. Unfortunately, I had to try three other tablets before discovering that the Lenovo works for my work apps. That enabled me to test drive several other tablets before getting this one. (Dell Venue 8, Acer Iconia A1, Nexus 7 original). And I think this one by far is the best one I've set my hands on. Why?

BATTERY! I LOVE THIS BATTERY. I use a tablet throughout the work day, and others would barely make it to the end of the day. With this one, I can use it heavily throughout the day and still have 70-80% left. The others dipped into the 40s or lower. I can't say enough about the battery life.

DISPLAY: I've intentionally not looked at the tablets with the super fancy colorful new displays, just so I don't think any less of the technology on the Lenovo. It seem wonderful to me. Nice and sharp images. Well rendered colors. Great for watching a movie.

SIZE: My Nexus 7 may only be an inch smaller than this, but it's a WORLD of difference. The 8 inch hits the sweet spot. Not obnoxious like a 10. Not difficult to see like a 7. 8 inch is the way to go!

SPEED: Most of the others had good speed. This one seems just a bit ahead of the others. But these tablets all excel over the first generation ones (i.e. My Nexus 7).

DURABILITY: This thing is solid, and perhaps a tad bit heavier than some. But I find that it feels just right in the hands.

LOOKS? I laugh when I hear people describe these tablets as bland or lacking stying. What do you want? Oval? Wavy? Yes, it's a rectangle. And it works.

BUTTONS: The Dell was a big disappointment because they located the usb plug on the side instead the top.
