This is a replacement for a tower design computer my wife was using for work. Big ol' monitor that weighed like 20 pounds. She had and XP OS and with this computer she was able to skip right past Microsoft's Vista mistake. She doesn't use it for gaming or graphic intensive programs. But it starts up quickly and runs everything she needs without delay. Love the touch screen, wireless and blue tooth features. I didn't know it included a wireless keyboard and mouse. Both work very well. If the price drops to $650 or less, buy it!
As I write this review, I've had this computer for 4 months, and I absolutely love it. 4 months ago, my HP Pavillion desktop decided it was time to give up on me, so I needed something new. I was looking for a new brand because I've had bad luck with Dell and because my HP had some issues throughout its lifetime as well. I asked a tech person where I work what a good computer brand is, and he said Lenovo.
I had narrowed it down to a "normal" Lenovo (at a really good price at Best Buy) and this one; I went with this model because I wanted the touch-screen and the all-in-one setup. Some people said that an all-in-one isn't always the best route to go if you want to upgrade parts later on, but that didn't matter to me because I use my computers until they give up on me, and then I get a new one instead of replacing parts. So the all-in-one feature was a major pro for me because it is very space-saving and compact. I also like how portable the all-in-one is; I usually keep my computer on my desk, but I can easily move it to my coffee table to watch a movie if I want.
The monitor of this computer is huge. I believe I had an 18 or 19" with my HP, and this monitor is a couple of inches bigger, which really makes a difference! I like being able to open two windows and put them side-by-side without having to crunch the two windows together. The touch-screen aspect is really neat; it's convenient (and fun) to be able to touch the screen and do what you want that way instead of always having to use the mouse. Oh, and the mouse and keyboard are Bluetooth, so you don't need to use up a USB port like other wireless mice and keyboards require.
As for the way the computer runs- it's fast, but nothing too far off from what I had before with my HP, so it's not like I'm super impressed by the processor. It's good, but nothing out of the ordinary. As for the amount of storage space, it's incredible...I'll never come close to using it all, but it's nice to know how much room I DO have! Software-wise, Windows 7 is installed on the computer; I was used to Vista (and still prefer Vista to 7), but Windows 7 is easy to get used to.
I would highly recommend this computer to anyone. I haven't needed to contact support, so I don't know how good that service is, but everything I've experienced with this computer so far is 5 star.
I am not a techie, so take that into consideration when reading this review. Purchased the B305 about a month ago and have enjoyed using my new computer. Its beautiful, fast and easy to use. The set-up was simple. I like having the wireless keyboard and mouse, my work area is now uncluttered. The programs are intuitive, I have had an easy time using the new technology and using the touchscreen makes editing my pictures quick and easy. The only place the B305 could be improved are the speakers. They have a tinny sound. Overall, for the price this was a very good buy.
I wasn't expecting to be so pleased. The picture is great and setup was a snap. I had a problem with the Bluetooth keyboard, but a phone call to service was another pleasant surprise. They sent a new keyboard the same day and I received it the following day FedEx. For a very low price I got a super computer.
My family has had this all in one for about a year now. It has been prbolem free and totally reliable. Windows 7 works great. One of the really great things is wireless and Bluetooth - no cable - no wires. Power cord only. Just one drawback is batteries required for keyboard and mouse.
We needed a computer that was a good all around PC - the central home for all our pictures, something for our kid's pre-school games, email, simple word docs - nothing fancy like hardcore gaming, Photoshoping, or video editing. I wanted the price to be under $800 and this fit the bill. 1TB to hold all our pix (I highly suggest online backup service like Mozy or Carbonite to save your memories). The touchscreen, while not as smooth as your iPhone, is actually quite useful. Two people can discuss a web site, document, etc by touching the screen to navigate, click buttons, etc. My pre-schooler found that it was much easier to play her alphabet games by simply touching the letter instead of using the mouse.
Two complaints: The web cam takes very grainy video AND the bluetooth mice/keyboard take an few seconds for it to come to life after you wake the computer up. So if you have an idea and start typing away, the cursor just sits there for 3-5 seconds. Sometimes it remembers what you typed, other times it acts like you did nothing. Minor inconvenience of course.
