I was looking at used servers until this one came up on Amazon for an astoundingly low price. I hadn't even considered buying a "new" server as they're usually at or above $2k. At 1/3 that price, I couldn't pass.

Pay close attention to the exact part number for the specs of the configuration. Go to lenovo.com/psref In the middle left is "Product Collections", click "All current books in PDF". Within this giant PDF, search for the part number of your model, ie, 3064. The exact specifications and configuration for this model are on one sheet, page 697 in the PDF. This page is invaluable! Which PCIe slots are 3.0 vs 2.0 and if full or half height; which models come with various Xeon processors; and whether there are 1 or 2 PSUs included.

From that PDF:
Expansion Slots
Slot 1: half-length, full-height, PCI Express 3.0 x16
Slot 2: half-length, full-height, PCI Express 2.0 x8 (x4 elec)
Slot 3: Low Profile, PCI Express 3.0 x8 (x4 elec)
Slot 4-5 are available on dual processors models:
Slot 4: half-length, full-height, PCI Express 3.0 x16 (x8 elec)
Slot 5: half-length, full-height, PCI Express 3.0 x8

First off: if you buy a Lenovo server, immediately update the bios. It's in the downloads via the product page. I updated mine by inserting a USB stick then F12 upon startup and boot to UEFI shell. Then I one by one executed the commands listed in the UEFI script.

Next, if you're not going to use the onboard software raid, "Raid 300", disable it in bios: Advanced -> SATA Configuration: 1) Set the SATA Mode to AHCI; 2) Disable SCU Devices and set to "Enabled". This will save you the delay while rebooting and it runs the bios software and tells you there are no disks.
