A great thin and light laptop at a price that can't be beat!,
This review is from: Lenovo U350 13.3-Inch Laptop (Black) (Personal Computers)
I bought this laptop after my tablet broke. Because it was an unexpected purchase I wanted to buy a cheaper laptop. I also wanted a thin and light laptop after seeing someone carry around a MacBook Air. It turns out that this would have been better than many more expensive laptops! First of the laptop is thin and light; especially compared to my Fujitsu T4220, this weighs almost nothing. Because I carry my laptop with me everywhere this is a big deal. It has both a VGA and a HDMI port for hooking up to displays without requiring a silly adaptor (like a certain competitor). It has an Ethernet port which is still important in some parts of the world as well as speedy LAN transfers. It has 3 USB ports which is fairly sufficient, along with a SD card slot. The keyboard is full size, and nice. The only thing I miss sometimes are media buttons for quickly pausing music or skipping to the next song and the trackpad mouse button is to mushy. It runs a lot cooler than my tablet. It has a "Pentium" processor, but it is a modern Intel ULV processor; Intel just brands it poorly to try and get people to upgrade away from it.
This is not the machine you are looking for for 3D gaming or video editing. But I have a desktop, so I never need to do these tasks on my laptop. I am perfectly happy with the processing power, it works well enough for Photoshop which I use. No disk drive either, but this is not an issue for me. I only purchase digital software and media downloads, so I only need to use a CD/DVD about once a year. You can buy a ~$50 external drive or rip the ISO on my desktop and then transfer it over. The way I look at it; this is 1/3 the price of a MacBook Air and it has more ports and Windows so it fits my needs better. I highly recommend this machine.

Excels in its function: A mobile laptop for mobile use,
This review is from: Lenovo U350 13.3-Inch Laptop (Black) (Personal Computers)
I made my last two laptop purchases on the basis of performance and "bells&whistles". However over the 5 years I owned those two laptops, I realized that my main concern for laptops was portability.
If your looking to purchase a system that will run CS4 efficiently or provide a great gaming experience then you may not be the brightest bulb to be confining your search to laptops in the 1" thick and 3.5 lbs range with a decent size screen. There has to be a trade-off in this regard. The vast majority of laptop users are folks using their laptop for school or work, and do not require high performance machines. Web browsing, basic multimedia, Office, etc. are the common activities which these users depend on, and this laptop preforms said tasks without difficulty and in a highly portable and attractive package. My major criticism would be that the two keys for the laptop mousepad are significantly louder than the keyboard in general. Given that ultra-portable systems are desirable for education and workplace use, this drawback is particularly disheartening. However, on a personal level I carry around a wireless mouse so it does not present as much of an issue.

I've had the laptop for several months and am satisfied that I chose this thin and light.
Comments: - about 8 hours battery power - reasonably light - crisp screen - the SU4100 processor is great: i could output HD video to a 30" screen thru the HDMI port and it runs cool - very pretty - comfortable keyboard - no dedicated graphics (but then, the only laptops in this class that have it cost upward of $1000) You get your money's worth, I think.

Have had this laptop about 6 weeks. Pros: Nice exterior, keyboard is great, casing is good quality. Cons: Unfortunately it's lack of processing power couldn't keep up with basic multi-tasking. Having itunes, a removable hard drive, and Firefox open at the same time causes the system to bog down. The "processor speed" widget hits 100% and the computer slows significantly. Also had a problem with multi-tasking while downloading files from newsgroup server. Paid $470, wishing now that I had spent more on a i3 or i5 processor, this one just lacks power. Also, the sound does not get very loud compared to other laptops. Battery initially lasted nearly 10 hours, but now gets about 5-6 hours. Would be OK as a netbook replacement.
EDIT: This computer is dead after 13.5 months of use on a one year warranty. Bad motherboard and now this is a paperweight. I will stay away from Lenovo products from now on.

I'm quite happy with this laptop. However I have a feeling they accidentally shipped it with the larger battery pack. It claims it can last up to 8+ hours. Keyboard feels good. There wasn't too many bloatware on it. Camera is sharp. Trackpad buttons are a bit too clicky; could've been smoother.
Screen is nice. No lag while Netflix playback. Surface around the keyboard has a nice aluminum brushed feel to it. Plastic behind the screen (top of the laptop) feels high quality. It just feels well built all around.

Review of Lenovo U350 Laptop - Very poor quality - Screen is so dull, sound is okay. Doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. Not happy with the Lenovo brand. Understood its cheap laptop but quality is way inferior when compared to many other brands in the same price range.
