5.0 out of 5 stars Best Dang Hacksaw Ever !!!!!
You can't find one any better. The tension adjustment is awesome and locks tight. No other hacksaw comes close. One word of advice, Do not over-tighten the tension adjustment. This will result in broken parts. The saw I have now is 6 years old and still in good working order. Even if it does look pretty rough, there's NO RUST. The saw in the picture is a very good American made tool. Unfortunately it isn't made anymore. It's replacement is an inferior Chinese piece of crap.
I was lucky that the vendor Heavy Duty was a stand up company and accepted my return and refunded all of my money including shipping. This is a great company and I will do business with them in the future.

This will result in broken parts. The saw I have now is 6 years old and still in good working order. Even if it does look pretty rough, there's NO RUST. It has a set of 90 degree pins that you will usually use and a set of 45 degree pins for use in close quarters. Stop looking, this is the one.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you only buy one hacksaw, buy this one, October 19, 2010

I've used a Lenox 4012 for over 15 years. Actually, two of them. One in the shop for cutting metal, and the other in the kitchen with a coarse blade for cutting blocks of frozen food. The difference between a high-tension saw frame (like this one) and the usual cheap stamped-metal frame is startling. With a properly tensioned blade, your effort goes into cutting, not into flexing the saw.

Among the high-tension frames, the Lenox stands out by having a very comfortable tensioning lever at the bottom, instead of a shorter, harder-to-turn knob. After taking up the slack on a new blade, two or three turns of the lever is all it takes.

With a frame like this, you owe it to yourself to buy decent blades. Typically 12" blades are available with 14, 18, 24 and 32 teeth per inch. Get some coarse toothed ones (14 or 18 tpi) for heavy cutting, and some fine toothed ones (24 or 32 tpi) for thinner material, and don't be shy about switching between them. Using a high-tension frame, any chatter in the cut is probably due to an inappropriate (dull or bad tooth count) blades.

Nice grip. Appears to cut straighter than some of the other hacksaws that i have used. It is now my first choice when cutting fast and straight vs other hacksaws.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great hacksaw, February 4, 2009
This review is from: Lenox 20918-4012 High Tension Hand Hacksaw Frame (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is the best hacksaw made. I have one that I have had for over twenty years and it has received some hard useage. It still works great. Don't waste your money and suffer the aggravation of a cheap tool. Get one that is sturdy and will last.

We love you product...but would like to know if you sell parts for this product. We have owned two of these hacksaws and have broken the front part that holds the saw blade in. Do you have this part for sale?
